Denial

It was 7:39 PM and most of the team were watching Kaldur and Superboy do some combat training. The only team member not here was Dick which was sort of a bummer since he was definitely the member that liked me the most. I stood next to Wally while Megan and Artemis stood next to each other, I noticed Wally eating.

[Y/N]: So, you have that fast of a metabolism, huh?

Wally: Uh, yeah, fastest boy alive also includes energy, my energy drains way faster, gotta keep it up.

[Y/N]: I guess that's fair. So, who do you think will win?

Wally: Kaldur, obviously.

[Y/N]: Yeah, Superboy doesn't stand a chance.

Wally: We still need to do that rematch, I will beat you for sure.

[Y/N]: Yeah, keep telling yourself that Mr. Slow Reflexes.

Artemis and Megan watched the two fight and was far enough from the other boys that they couldn't hear them.

Artemis: Kaldur's, uh, nice, don't you think? Handsome. Commanding. You should totally ask him out.

Megan: He's like a big brother to me. But you know who would make the cutest couple? You and Wally.

Megan and Artemis looked over at Shade and Wally who had started arguing over who would beat who in fight. Artemis looking at you made her feel things she couldn't quite explain, it was a weird mix of happy that you were alive and angry that you abandoned her.

Megan: Or maybe he's already taken.

Megan giggled at the two boys arguing. Megan looked at Artemis seeing the look on her face.

Megan: Y'know, you and Shade haven't really talked much since he joined.

Artemis: Can you blame me? He nearly killed us when I first met him.

Megan: Well, when I first met him, he helped Superboy and I stop Sportsmaster. I guess your first impression of him wasn't exactly the best but you just got to get to know him.

Artemis: Trust me, I know enough. Besides, you know nothing about him.

Megan: Well, I know that Batman and Robin trust him, so, I do to.

Artemis: Well, I don't.

Megan sighed.

[Y/N] and Wally: OH C'MON!!

Superboy: Black Canary taught me that.

Red Tornado came down from the ceiling and Wally rushed over to him.

Wally: Do you have a mission for us?

[Y/N]: I'm with Wally here, I didn't join up to wait in daycare until mommy picks me up. I want go out and do something.

Red Tornado: Mission assignments are the Batman's responsibility.

Wally: Yeah, well, The Batman's with The Robin doing the dynamic duo thing in Gotham. But you're headed somewhere, right? Hot date or a-a mission.

Kaldur: If we can be of help.

Red Tornado pulled up a hologram of an old man.

Tornado: This is Kent Nelson, a friend. He is 106 years old.
