Hope for a new love

After a few days at the hospital, school was going to start. There was a mix of butterflies and excitement in Armin's stomach. Thoughts of Jean not liking him raced in his head. How could he get paranoid over someone who he hasn't seen in months? The next day school would start. Although Armin has been gone for 6 months, he only missed three months of school because of spring break. So, he would have had to make the school up, but since he had high grades he wouldn't struggle.

Armin had woken up on his bland white hospital bed. He had been there for about 5 days. The paranoia of Jean's reaction to him was still bothering him. There was the aroma of fresh waffles in the air. Finally, the temptation breakfast lay there in front of Armin! Trying not to hold back, he just dug in. There was a paper on his tray. Armin was going to be discharged tomorrow!

There as nothing but a smile on his face. A knock was on the door. "Can I come in please?" a familiar voice said.

"Come in."

"SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

A boat load of confetti was flying through the air. There were balloons, chocolate, and those fancy stuffed animals that you give to somebody when their in a hospital. "Eren! Mikasa!" Armin screamed with excitement.

"We heard that you had returned in the newspaper a couple days ago and we thought we would visit you!" Mikasa said as she was cleaning up.

A puzzling feeling swept across Armin's face.

"I... was in the news?"

"Yeah! Do you want me to read what the news paper says?"

Armin looked at the newspaper that was on the table next to his bed. Right next to his tray was a newspaper. One of the columns were titled, 'Boy Gets Kidnapped but Returns Six Months Later' in bold letters. There was a picture of Armin on it. He smiled.

"That would be nice."

Eren cleared his voice in an attempt to look more professional, "It was March, 16. Fifteen year old boy Armin Arlert was kidnapped by a gang of drug dealers. He was taken by them to a secret lair. There were three different kids involved, they injected him with scapolany. This is a drug that can be used to manipulate people without then even knowing it. After the drug wore off, he was put into a coma. He awoke just five days ago and is currently in the hospital."

"Wow. Hey Eren, can I ask you a question?"

"Yeah, what is it Armin"

"Do you remember Jean?"

Mikasa's face lit up as if she had suddenly remembered something.

"I think Jean misses you. You should go see him."

"I will, but I don't know, I still need to figure out my feelings for Jean. I-I th-"

Eren gently patted Armin on his shoulder. "Go see him tomorrow, tell him how you feel."

A gentle smile cracked Armin's face. "I'm going to see you Jean." he thought to himself.
