End of the previous chapter: They were coming and it seemed difficult to avoid combat.

Chapter 2

Clash

They had both felt their arrival. Hesitancy dominated them. Speeding up, without having had time to build any plan, they did not know how to get out of this perilous situation. A sigh then pulled them out of their reflection.

- Wow, I have one of those headaches.

All that was missing, Jackson had come back to him, it was certainly not time for explanations. But the young man was not aware of the situation:

- Derek? Why did you knock me out? He asked by rubbing his top of the skull.
He then felt a second presence and his gaze then landed on his high schoolmate. Scott had finally returned. Finally good news. Admittedly, he had never had a very good relationship with him, but at least, maybe Derek would be in a better mood and therefore less hard with him. He had felt that his absence weighed on him. He never spoke about him, but he had surprised him several times in expeditions. These expeditions actually resulted in a kind of Scott spinning mill, Derek made sure everything was fine for him and then left, carefully avoiding being caught. He had not told her about it, this subject being obviously taboo.

But the atmosphere was heavy. They looked worried. It felt trouble in prospect.

- What's going on?

Derek royally ignored him when he approached the window, observing the surroundings. He was not even offended, accustomed to his companion's goujat behavior.

- Hunters come to kill Derek. He broke the truce by transforming you.

In Scott's mouth, it sounded like a reproach. Admittedly, Jackson had harassed them, so to become a werewolf too, but Derek had not really seemed against it. He even smiled at his last request. A predatory smile.

The latter then intervened:

- Leave. Run to take refuge in a safe place.

Derek hadn't even turned to them. He ordered them, very calmly, in a tone that suffered no dispute, to abandon him there and save their skin.

- Out of the question.

Well, maybe the challenge was still possible. Scott didn't seem ready to follow the plan at all, if you could call it a plan. This time Derek left the window. Jackson remained a spectator of the approaching confrontation.

- There are six of them. Including the two Scott Silvers. Do you really want to fight against your girlfriend? I don't think so. So you'll watch over Jackson and if I don't come back, you'll help him master himself as I did for you.

He had shuddered at Alison's mention but was still not moving.

- If we stay, they may hesitate to shoot right away. If you are alone, they won't hesitate. Replied the teenager with a foolproof logic.

As Derek was about to answer, an explosion sound sounded and a white flash darkened their sight.

They were driving at full speed. Alison and her father had warned their companions. Tonight, they were going to rid the world of an evil werewolf, who had not hesitated to transform an innocent human. This is how the girl saw the situation. Scott's escape worried her, saddened her, but her father had explained to her that her wolf senses should not have given her time for reflection and that he would join them as soon as his transformation was completed.

This was Alison's first hunt. His father had expressed reservations about his presence, but he had eventually yielded. We had to start well one day after all.
