Meredith's special order purple jeep pulled into the spot behind the building. Before exiting the vehicle, she grabbed her trench coat and slid it around her body, tying the belt tight, then checking the mirror. She pulled the keys out, causing the loud upbeat music to come to an abrupt halt. Meredith opened the door, and turned her body ninety degrees so that her long legs were dangling out of drivers seat. Then she bent down and with one hand grasping her coat so that it was still covering her front side, she untied her convers and pulled them off along with the socks that had small cartoon squirrels on them. She threw her shoes in the passenger seat and grabbed her lavender, six-inch, incredibly uncomfortable, platform pumps and slid them onto her feet.
She then hopped out of the car, landing shakily on her feet. Meredith chastised herself for her lack of carefulness, knowing that if she hurt her ankle, she wouldn't have enough to pay rent in June. She then turned around and delicately closed the door. Meredith made sure to always be gentle with Allium, her jeep. The most expensive possession she still had. Any damages it took would go unrepaired. Meredith pressed the lock button on the keys, heard the beep, then slid the keys into her pocket. She carefully walked the ten feet to the building entrance, her eyes glued to the ground, keeping the small points of her heels away from any potholes in the parking lot. Once she reached the door, she turned the handle and entered.
Meredith walked about five feet to the vanity that had the word 'Lavender' written out in mauve purple lipstick on the mirror. She pulled off her black trench coat and placed it on the back of her chair, which she then sat in. There was a large violet container with an assortment of make-up in front of her. She first pulled out a magenta lipstick and rubbed it on her once light pink lips. Then she grabbed her pallet of eyeshadow and brushed the the sparkling iris powder onto her eyes. Next she found her wine colored eyeliner and carefully drew a line above her eye with a small wing coming out, and followed suit with her other eye. Lastly, she pulled her wavy hair into two braids on either side of her head.
Meredith stood up and walked to the full length mirror in the corner of the room. She adjusted her, too small tied white button down shirt. Shirt might be a bit of an exaggeration, as only one button was actually used and the bottom half was pulled but to her chest a tied in a bow, leaving her entire flat midriff exposed. Then she smoothed her floral pleaded skirt that rested right below her belly button and went right below where he thigh started. The skirt was mostly the same shade of white as her top, but it was covered with small pictures of lavender flowers.
"Hey Lavender," She heard a voice behind her laugh out. Meredith turned quickly, now more confident in her heels, and saw her friend, Talia, or also known as Cherry. She was wearing a puffy bra covered in cherries with a big red bow in front of it and bright red small shiny spandex shorts. Her black hair was pulled into two buns on top of her head, with one curly strand purposely falling in front of her face. She had bright red lipstick that went perfectly with her dark skin. Meredith had always wished she could wear red lipstick but red had never been her color.
"Cherry." Meredith giggled at her friend. "How's it looking out there?"
"It's pretty crowded, you probably won't get out of here at a decent hour." Talia said sympathetically. Whenever she could, Talia would always close the club for Meredith, knowing that she had a two hour drive ahead of her.
"Damn." Meredith replied. "I really should have been like you and gone to some crappy school in Boston."
"Some crappy school?" Talia raised an eye brow and crossed her arms in front of her.
"That's what I said." Meredith laughed.
"MIT can take your want-to-be ivy league school any day of the week." Talia retorted.
