14 | a work of vain

"What the hell.."

Jake exhaled sharply, watching Hanee and Sunghoon's intimacy from outside .

He has to admit that his heart is hurting, seeing his crush joking and goofing with his own best friend .

"Stop , Sunghoon , stop !"
Hanee shouted , she pointed a brush at Sunghoon to threaten the boy .

Sunghoon just laugh ,
"Mr.Tickle is here !"

Hearing their laughter made Jake close his eyes tightly , he keeps whispering to his heart not to be jealous, he has no right to stop Hanee from being friends with anyone.

"Are you okay , dude ?"
Jay asked Jake, he shook Jake's shoulder making Jake open his eyes .

Jay looked behind the door and saw Hanee and Sunghoon were goofing around each other "Aish, that dude—"

Jay immediately stormed into the classroom as Jake followed him from behind .

"You bastard ! I'm looking for you around the school!  How can you leave me alone after track training?"
Jay scolded Sunghoon. He looked for Sunghoon all over the corner but he was nowhere to be found .

Sunghoon released Hanee from his grip and chuckled , he rushed to a nearby bakery to buy doughnuts for Hanee .
"Sorry Jay , I thought you went home first "

Jay clicked his tongue , observing what Hanee was doing but the girl closed their banner tightly while glaring at Jay as if she was going to eat him  .

Jay gulped and awkwardly rubbed his nape , he approached Sunghoon and nudged his arm .
"Let's go home ? I'm tired"

Sunghoon shook his head ,he wants to wait for Hanee .
"Nah , i'm staying here"

Frowning , Jay wonders if his friend is crazy or not on his sense . During training for their field day earlier, Sunghoon was complaining about how tired he was a lot .

"It's okay, you can wait and see. Jay, eat this doughnuts .  Sunghoon brought it earlier "
Hanee said as she reached for her brush again .

"He never paid for a meal when we were hanging out, why did he suddenly buy this doughnut ? ”
Jay mumbled but still bit into the soft doughnut and sat down next to Sunghoon.

Hanee glances at Jake who has been silent ever since "Jake, did something happen?"

Jake snapped back from his thought and shook his head "Sorry, I'm just zooming out"

He reached for the brush and carved a smile on his lips "Let's start working ?"

"Sure"

Jake and Hanee are trying to get the banner ready because it needs to be used tomorrow. 

The results of their paintings began to show a bombastic picture , it looked very beautiful and ethereal .

"Great job !"
Hanee and Jake high-faved to congratulate the results of their efforts .
