Gusion ignored the scream and used skills after skills to find a noble's carriage. He is currently one mile away from the town. This is the second time he have ran so fast. The first time was when he was chased by the Paxley mages to be killed and punished.

Up ahead he saw smoke. He have a bad feeling about this. He silently blinked to a tree and accessed the situation. A nobility carriage is currently burning. Guards were littered on the road, lifeless. The pungent smell of blood and burned flesh met his nostrils. He couldn't help but scrunched up in disgust.

"H-Help us." Someone softly muttered. Gusion's sensitive audtiory skills heard him.

He jumped to the direction of one guard. Three arrows are imbedded in his stomach. It's a lost cause for him.

"Who did this?" Gusion asked him seriously.

"B-Bandits. Madame- Madame- check her on the carriage," Gusion's eyes twitched at the loyalty of this guard towards his mistress.

He stood up from his crouching position and inspected the still burning carriage. A burned woman can be seen inside. Her face is no longer comprehensible. He couldn't even identify if it's a boy or girl but judging from the stature, it must be a girl. The only thing left are bones which didn't burn. Gusion doesn't even feel guilty accessing if she is still wearing the necklace. Not like he killed her or them for the matter. This is none of his business.

"Where did the bandits go?" They must be ambushed judging from the mess.

He looked at the bodyguard waiting for him to reply but he is now dead. Everyone around him is already dead. He clicked his tongue and blinked trees to trees. He doesn't know where to find the damn bandits. They must have stolen all the goods from the carriage including the emerald necklace. The dark night also didn't help his condition. If it's day, he would have easily tracked them but it's dark and he is not carrying any light with him. He also doesn't know how to use simple fire magic. His magic is holy blade after all.

He sighed and leaned his head on the tree. He fucked up. He can't have the necklace back. What will he tell her later on? That he stole the necklace then sold it and when he tried to recover it, it was stolen again? How ironic. And damn, he promised. He thought he'll have the necklace back. That's all it is: a thought.

He doesn't want to return to her side yet. He doesn't want to see her dissapointed. If he just have stolen the stupid ring instead. No, if he just didn't steal anything from her in the beginning then he wouldn't be drowning in guilt currently.

He can see another carriage heading to the now slightly burning carriage. It stopped on a distance and Gusion just simply observed up on the tree. He prays that this carriage is carrying the noble woman. He peeked and only saw a merchant driving the carriage. The carriage also screams peasant. It's impossible. The necklace was really stolen again and he couldn't recover it now. Looking for that necklace considering how big the continent is is like looking for a particular grain of sand in an ocean.

"Oh goodness gracious!" The merchant muttered. "I must return to the nearest town! It is not safe in here!" He drove the carriage away back to his direction.

Gusion blinked from trees to trees again though now he did it slow. He wanted to take his time. He felt like he couldn't face her. Guinevere, he just couldn't face her yet.

Guinevere leaned on the headrest. It's already 12:00 am yet Gusion still haven't returned. She is getting worried. He must be really pressured to find her necklace though he is not obligated to do so. He must be really annoyed at her wailing a while ago that's why he heed to her plea. Guilt bloomed in her chest yet again. He already helped her enough.
