Years ago, when the Psynergens and humans were still united, the King and Queen were watching from one of the towers. The Psynergen Queen was watching as her fellow species interacted with the humans, happy that they were accepted. "Don't you think your kind needs to follow orders?" The King said in an aggravated tone. The Queen looked at him in confusion. "I beg your pardon," She asked. "What is that supposed to imply?" She asked, feeling offended for the verbal attack on the Psynergens. The King shook his head and said nothing. "I wanted to believe that after our sons were born you would be more than willing to appreciate my kindness," She admitted. "Instead, you insist on hiding your kin from the kingdom." She added.
The King nodded. "They will know once we know about the possibility of magic between the boys." He said. The Queen shook her head. "I already explained to you that it doesn't happen quickly," She reminded him. "It'll be years before we know for sure." She said. "If I'm not mistaken," The King said. "You have a gift of foresight, yet you refuse to use it?" He asked. "Whether they have my species' abilities does not define them," The Queen replied. "Whether they are human or Psynergen, they are our children." She added. "I am merely asking for one simple answer," The King said. "Will the children have magic or won't they?" He asked. The Queen took a breath and gave in to her husband's wishes. She closed her eyes and looked into the future. She then opened them and looked at her husband. "They will have magic," She said. "But in a form that I've not seen in years." She explained. "They will have great power and will lead our kingdom to" She started to say.
"Lead," The King asked in frustration. "You expect me to let your kind threaten this kingdom even more?" He asked. "I told you in the beginning," The Queen said. "My kind doesn't wish to harm you or anyone else." She added. "I was a fool to think you'd ever change," She said. "Now our sons will face a threat they'll know nothing about." She said. "And what threat is that?" The King asked. The Queen was silent and started walking away. "I need to reignite the prism." She said. The King grabbed her by the arm and the Queen noticed a symbol on his hand. "You've already done it," She said. "You requested the curse that can destroy my kind." She added. The King smiled. "My goal is to protect my kingdom," He said. "If a Psynergen must be sacrificed then so be it." He added. "For I have the same goal as The Forbidden," He explained. "To rid the world of your species." He admitted.
"If you're suggesting that I follow through with allowing you to kill my kind," The Queen warned. "Then you are very much mistaken of my loyalty," She explained. "For mine lies with Psynergens, not you." She said, pushing her husband's hand away. The King looked at her, calmly. "I was afraid you'd say that," He said as he raised his hand with the symbol glowing purple. "You've given me no choice." He said as the power shot from his hand and hit the Queen. The Queen attempted to run but the power was draining her energy and magic. "Any last words before your demise?" The King asked. "Your reign will end," The Queen said. "Once our sons learn their true purpose," She explained. "You are the unknown threat to them." She said before she let go and passed. The prism broke and the Psynergens had felt the death of the Queen.
A group of guards came in and began to attack the king for the murder. With a swipe of his hand, the king used his magic to change the guard's memories of what they saw. "Be sure to remove those creatures from my kingdom." He ordered. The guards obeyed and the Psynergens were chased away. The King looked at the former Queen. "Our sons will know exactly what Psynergens are," He said. "I will be sure they do not discover that part of their nature." He said. This would be his first act as the Forbidden Master.
Back in the present day, Griffin ran over to Hestia, trying to wake her up. He then looked at the Forbidden Master in rage. The rest of the group joined him and prepared to fight. "You're not hurting anyone else, father!" Xavier said to the Forbidden Master. A bolt of lightning shot towards them and Bronte manipulated it to avoid the group. Everyone started using their powers against the Forbidden Master. Duncan then spotted something, fragments of the prism. "Xavier," He said. "If you and I use our magic together we can fix the prism and weaken him." He explained. Xavier agreed and they put the pieces into place. "This is going to take a lot of magic," Duncan warned. Xavier nodded. "Whatever it takes." He said. As the others fought, the brothers used as much of their magic, creating a yin yang effect around them. They completed the spell and a wave of energy shot across the kingdom, knocking the Forbidden Master to the ground.
The group stopped and looked at the now weaker, Forbidden Master. "My sons," The Forbidden Master said to Duncan and Xavier. "Surely you wouldn't kill your father." He said. Xavier and Duncan looked at each other and then at their father. "No," Duncan said, surprising the group. "Because your death wouldn't be punishment enough." He explained. "Pathetic," Hestia's voice spoke. The group turned to see that Hestia was awake and her flames had turned purple. "No," Griffin said, shaking his head in disbelief. "He turned her." He added. Hestia smirked and walked over to the Forbidden Master. The Forbidden Master smirked as he looked at Hestia. "Welcome, my new warrior," He said to her. "Take care of them." He ordered.
Hestia didn't move and instead, kept looking at the Forbidden Master. "Are you deaf," The Forbidden Master asked. "I said to-" He started to say before Hestia grabbed him by the throat. "I'm not one of your puppets," She said as her flames turned into a type of gold color. "And neither was my brother." She said. "They may not want to kill you, but me," She said as she began to burn him. "I have no problem with it." She said as she used her powers to burn him from the inside, turning him to ashes. Griffin looked at Hestia in surprise. "What was that?" He asked. Hestia looked at him and smiled. "A fire magic called Phoenix," She said. "Powerful enough to avoid the control of the Forbidden Master." She explained. Griffin nodded and was relieved that Hestia wasn't under the Forbidden Master's control. Hestia looked at him for a while and then walked closer. "One more thing," She said before kissing him. "Thank you for being there for me." She said. Griffin was caught off guard and blushed.
Before Griffin could say anything, the ground began to shake as the sky grew dark again. "Uhh guys," Hali said. The group looked to see that the ashes began to swirl around and float into the air, turning into a thick mist of purple smoke. "I thought that killed him," Hestia said. Duncan shook his head. "It's not that simple," He said. "He bonded himself with the Forbidden." He explained. The Forbidden spread throughout the kingdom, breaking everything in sight and getting closer to the group. Neander used his magic to create a barrier around everyone. "Brace yourselves!" He shouted as the barrier glowed. Suddenly everything stopped and Neander put down the barrier.
Upon putting down the barrier, everyone saw the kingdom of Astrolic looked different. It was multiple broken buildings, various plants covering everything. "Where did you send us?" Xavier asked. "Somewhere in the 21st century," Neander replied. "The Forbidden must've left this area sometime before we arrived." He explained. Xavier shook his head. "It doesn't matter," Than said. "We're the only Psynergens left." He said. Duncan noticed something on a wall and walked over. "Maybe not," He said, pointing to a carving that wasn't there before. "But our father said he destroyed them," Xavier said. "He didn't know about the ones that were living in the castle," Duncan said. "One of the gardeners and the man who looked after us," He explained. "Even the children Griffin interacted with were Psyneregens' who hadn't developed their abilities." He said. "This proves that they survived." He said, pointing to the carving.
"So now what," Crystal asked. "What do we do if the Forbidden Master comes back?" She added. "We'll be ready for him," Hestia said. Duncan nodded and looked at Xavier. "You and I are gonna have to go somewhere else for a while." He explained. Xavier looked at him confused. "What do you mean?" He asked. Duncan explained that the two of them were going to meet with some other Psynergens called the Astrolics'. "There's more than our kind?" Xavier asked. Duncan nodded and explained that the Astrolics' were the original. "We can see what our limits are with them," He explained before turning to the group. "Keep an eye on this world in our absence." He said. Everyone else agreed as Xavier and Duncan vanished into thin air.
Some of the Psynergens went their separate ways to cover more ground, but something else was afoot. Over at a mental hospital, a purple mist lurked in the shadows as it observed a new worker. The worker was about to walk past when the mist went inside him, possessing the body. His eyes glowed purple for a second as he smirked. The Forbidden Master had returned and now had a host to use for his willingness.
