Xavier looked at Griffin, confused. "How could I be a Psynergen?" He asked. "This isn't possible." He added. Griffin walked over, pointing to Xavier's glowing hands. "We're the only species with that kind of power," He said. "But you're different, you're like Reaper." He explained. "He's the pure darkness and you're the pure light." He said. "I know what you're father said about Psynergens," He added. "But you're one of us, Xavier." He said. Xavier looked at Griffin and started calming down a bit as his hands stopped glowing.
"Emptiness," Xavier said. "That was what I felt before the magic started." He explained. "It was like a part of me was taken away." He added. Griffin nodded with a saddened expression. "You'll have to get used to that," He said to Xavier. "When one Psynergen dies, we all feel it." He explained.
Just then, the two of them heard rustling in the distance. "What was that?" Xavier asked. Griffin got onto a tree and looked around. He then noticed someone walking around, one of the guards from Astrolic. "Your royal guard decided to pay a visit," Griffin said, jumping back to the ground towards Xavier. "Why would my father send him?" Xavier asked. "I don't know," Griffin said, shaking his head. "But we can't let the others see him," He explained. "You distract him," He added. "I have a plan."
Xavier didn't have time to react as Griffin set off. He then followed the orders and went to the guard. "Why have you come here?" He asked. "The Pynergens' only requested me." He added. The guard looked at Xavier and bowed. "My apologies, my prince," He said. "But your father requested my presence here." He added. Xavier nodded. "I see," He said to the guard. "But I'm afraid that the Pysnergens' will not take kindly to you coming into their realm." He said. "Please return to Astrolic," He added. The guard started panicking and shaking his head.
Just then, Xavier noticed that Griffin slowly started sneaking behind the guard with a Poppy flower in his hand. As he got closer, Griffin used his magic on the Poppy to turn it into a mist. The guard noticed the direction that Xavier was looking and was prepared to fight. The guard turned but before he could do anything, Griffin blew the mist onto his face. The guard reacted with a puzzled expression, not expecting the mist.
"Hey," The guard said in a growing tired voice. "What are you..." He said as his vision started to blur. "What're you doing?" He said as he started lying down on the ground, exhausted. The guard then started having a dream that kept him asleep.
As the guard slept he could feel himself being moved around but was too tired to see what was happening. He could hear Xavier and Griffin talking but their voices were muffled from his sleepiness. After what felt like a few peaceful seconds to him, the guard awoke to a loud bang on the bars of a cell.
The guard jumped and woke up a little. He looked around in a blurry daze as he looked to see Reaper outside the cell. "Who are you," Reaper asked him. "And why have you trespassed on this realm?" He added. The guard was half asleep and was answering without even noticing. "I was sent by the king," He said in a tired voice. "He wanted me to bring prince Xavier back to Astrolic." He added. "This is not your king's territory," Reaper said to the guard. The guard was looking more tired by the second. "I was given orders," He said in a slurred tone. "And I'm going to do the task." He said with a yawn. "You'll be able to do so in a few days," Reaper said. "That will be how long it takes for the effects of the mist to wear off." He added before walking away from the guard who had fallen back to sleep.
Reaper then walked into another area where Griffin and Xavier were talking. "Non surprisingly," He said to Xavier. "The king sent him to get you back to Astrolic." He added. Xavier and Griffin looked at each other for a second, noticeable by Reaper. "Is there a problem?" Reaper asked. Xavier looked at him and shook his head. "I can't return to Astrolic." He said to Reaper. Reaper looked at him. "And why's that?" He asked. Xavier looked at him for a moment and then held out his hand, creating a ball of light. Reaper nodded. "You finally did it." He said, only his tone sounded relieved and his voice was different but felt familiar to Xavier.
