so that each night, she may shine, consoling others.
even though her world revolves
around another.
for the sun so loves the moon
that each morning until his last breath, he gives life-sustaining light to her lover.
even though it'll ultimately be the cause of his slow and painful death.
for his days cease to have meaning
without the promise of her
beauty each night.
this unrequited love, his only plight.
