i've never liked crescent-shaped moons.
they always look as if the moon is smiling and you're always able to see the faint shadow of an outline of the rest of its face. it's mouth, its teeth, the only thing visible to the rest of us.
i've never liked it because the moon was supposed to be magical and in that moment it reminded me too much of a person. displaying a pretentious smile, a happy facade, for the world to see while at the same time cleverly hiding its eyes - so we won't know that the smile is a lie.so we'll never discover that the smile never quite reaches her eyes.
