His smartphone didn't stop ringing when Jisung finally left his work and stepped out of the building. He awkwardly tucked his briefcase under his arm to fish his phone out of his pocket.
Minho is Calling
He quickly took the call from his sister-in-law, since she rarely called him. He was about to greet her when he heard a sob on the other end of the line. "Minho, what's wrong?" the family man asked anxiously. "Can I meet you? I need someone to talk to" Minho spoke after she had caught herself for a moment.
Jisung always got along very well with Minho, so he agreed without thinking too much. After they agreed on a meeting point, he texted his wife that he had to work overtime today. A little white lie now and then has to be part of a good marriage. He didn't want to jump on Minho right away, because he didn't know what was bothering her and what she had been crying about. Therefore, he lied rather than tell his wife the truth right away. Even if she was a very understanding person.
When he entered the café, which they always used as a secret meeting place, he saw Minho turned in on herself. He gently stroked her shoulder and sat down next to her. His gaze was full of concern as he took a closer look at his friend. Her eyes were red. She must have been crying for a while. "What's the matter? You've never called me so upset before." A deep sigh left her red lips. "I got into a fight with Seungmin again, and we were pretty much yelling at each other. He threw a lot at my head." She seemed quite composed, yet she placed her hand on Jisung's knee seeking support.
He had never been uncomfortable with Minho's touch. On the contrary. He enjoyed them, because Minho was the most beautiful person he had ever seen in his life. His right hand soothingly stroked her back while his left gently rested on hers. "He can be a real idiot sometimes. Still, I think he said it more out of the heat of the moment. I don't think he would intentionally hurt you." he tried to encourage her. But the pain seemed to be deep. "But I didn't hold it against him that he was totally incompetent in so many things," she said, pouting as she leaned on Jisung's shoulder. Jisung couldn't help but giggle, which made Minho smile again. He knew his brother well, so he knew immediately what Minho meant.
Jisung did his best to cheer Minho up. He showered her with compliments and felt Minho literally melt in his arms. "You give me so many sweet compliments. Your brother could learn a lot from you" she smiled as she dreamily stroked the back of his hand. Jisung laughed lightly and looked down at Minho. He gently brushed a strand of hair from her face. "If you had met me before Seungmin, maybe he would be the one comforting you now," he said softly, causing Minho to look up at him. "I don't think we would fight so much if we were married."
"Who knows? Maybe I'm bad in bed?" Jisung teased. "You have two kids, so you can't be that bad," Minho fired right back, catching the usually quick-witted Jisung off guard. Cheering up took a dangerous path, yet Jisung couldn't suppress his thoughts. What if he had met Minho earlier? Would he have married her then and started a family? Not that he didn't love Hyunjin. She was still his goddess. Nevertheless, these inappropriate thoughts came to him.
"I would treat you better baby" he breathed against her lips. As they sat in a secluded corner of the café he was sure not to be seen. To his surprise, Minho approached him. Their lips joined in what was at first a gentle kiss. Quickly, however, it became more intense, so that Jisung automatically pulled her closer to him. The kiss was almost longing from Minho. He didn't want to think too much about why, but just enjoy the here and now. He pushed all thoughts aside and caressed Minho's soft lips. only reluctantly did he break away as Minho put her hand on his chest and put some distance between them. "We shouldn't be doing this." she spoke in a shaky voice. "But I can't help it that you cast such a spell on me my beautiful".
