CHAPTER FIFTEEN:BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE

"What the fuck are you doing here?" I asked while looking at him
"Hello to you too" he replied sarcastically
"I asked you a question"
"I came to meet my fiance's family,is there a problem with that"he replied firmly
"Hello Mrs Taylor"Mason greeted my mom
" Hello darling and I have told you to call me Tessa"my mom replied an pulled him in for a hug
"Your most welcome,make your self at home" my mom told him while walking back out
"Come on let's go to the back" I told him while gulping down my wine
This is going to be a long day

We reached out and Mason greeted my dad and brothers.
Meanwhile am refilling my glass of wine while he is talking to my dad and Tristan
"He seems like a dissent guy" Travis says from behind me
"Ya, he is" I mumble
I take a quick look at him and his laughing with Tristan.

"Aunty Tiff,may you get me a bottle of water" I look down and see Rodney trying to reach the counter,I pick him up and feed him the water and he starts telling me stories of Travis and Sarah taking him to a water park and Sarah being afraid of height and I burst out laughing.

Sarah comes in and tells me more stories and shows me pictures.
Rodney yawns and my mom announces dinner is ready.
We all walk in the house with Rodney still on my hip playing with my hair and he whispers in my ear
"We both have the same hair" I giggle at his small gesture and agree with him,I feel like someone's staring at me and find Mason staring at me weridly
I give Rodney to Travis and walk over to Mason.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" I ask him
"No reason" I decide brush it off and walk to the outside dinning table since
I sit next to Mason and Tiana on my right opposite me is Tristan
We all hold hands and my mom prays and to be honest I really liked holding Masons hand.
After praying we all dig in and my dad starts talking about business.

"So Tiffany,we are having a meeting next Wednesday I expect you to be there!" My dad says since am taking his company in two weeks and am obviously excited cause I have been waiting for this moment since high school.
"sure" I reply
" So Tiff what happened between you and Ethan?"Tristan asks

You gotta be fucking kidding me
"He-" before I could finish Tiana completed
"He cheated on her with Gabbie"
I looked over to Tiana and she gave me 'your welcome look'  she knew I don't like talking about that because I always end up wanting to cry
Mason put his hand on my thigh and I drop my fork
"That peace of shit" my mom says out loud and my dad and brothers quickly respond
"he has always been a peace of shit" I remove Masons hand from my thigh and and cover my face with my hands
"How did you find out he was cheating on you?" Tristan asks again
"I found him having sex with Gabbie in my apartment,then kicked them both out"
Mason puts back his hand on my thigh but higher and try my freaking best not to be affected
"Do you know were they are now" my mom asks
"I don't know maybe at Gabbie's shitty apartment"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean-" Travis cuts me off
"Gabbie has always been a jealous bitch and Ethan has always been broke"
Am not going to argue there because it's true though, Gabbie has always been jealous of my success and we'll Ethan on the other hand never has money or doesn't want to work...I don't know actually I don't care.

"So wait,let me get this straight" Mason asks"you have been working to keep a roof over your head while the your ex boyfriend would do what,lay in bed the whole day and fuck your best friend ...Cassie"
"Yes" my siblings all respond
"I guess,and her name is Gabbie" I mumble
"I don't care what a hypocrite's name is" Mason says while squeezing my thigh a little and honestly that kinda made me feel safe I put my hand on top of his and he looked at me in shock,I quickly removed it but he grabbed it and interwined our hands under the table and this time I didn't let go.
We kept on chatting until my mom asked to help her out in the kitchen
When we entered the kitchen my mom gave me asked me to grab her some whine from the cabinet  I grabbed two bottles of wine.
"I saw the way you look at him"
"What are you talking about mom?"
"You look at him with love sweetheart"
"Mom this isn't some fairy tale"
"I know sweetie but you just have to accept that you do and hopefully not when it's too late"she says while grabbing one bottle from my hand and walking back outside.
I stood there still thinking about what she told me

"Are you okay?"Mason asks from behind me
" Ya I am just thinking"I look behind and find him standing dangerously close to me
He tucks a strand of hair behind my ears and cups my face with the other lifting my chin to look up at him his hand slips to my waist to pull me closer to him while the other still cupping my face while hands go to his chest keeping some distance between us.
I look at him in the eyes and he stares back at me with

Our moment is cut short when my mom asks for the bottle of wine.
Mason kisses my forehead but his hand doesn't let go of my waist, we head back out and drink wine while catching up.
Our reunion is cut short when it starts getting late.
"Tiana when is pregnancy date" my mom asks her
"In two weeks maybe, do you wanna feel her kick" she asks her and me and mom touch her stomach and feel it
"This is amazing I say while still look at the stomach" she looks over to Malcom and pecks him on the lips while Rodney and Ryan touch her swollen belly

"Guys I have an announcement to make" Tristan says while standing up
"Am starting my own restaurant" Tristan says and we all congratulate him and go to our separate cars while my mom keeps on saying bye like the world is ending.
