I woke up next to my girl and she looks so peaceful so I slowly slid from under her trying not to wake her up. I went to my room and put some sweats and a tank top on so I could start on breakfast. Dantè left a note for india so I left it alone and started on some pancakes,bacon,eggs and toast. As I was making the eggs I felt little arms wrap around me.
Me: Good morning baby girl
India: morning baby it smells good down here
*She gave me a kiss then sat on the counter*
Me: I'm almost done with the eggs but can you put some butter on the toast pls
India: ofc
Me: oh yeah Dantè left you a note, it's over there
She picked up the note and read it out loud

"Aye I'll probably be gone by time y'all see this but I gotta go take care of some business but I'll be back in a few weeks. Tell Lei she can stay at the house with you until I get back if she wants. I left y'all some money that should last y'all those few weeks but if you need more you got my number. Jalese is at grandma house you can get her if you want but you don't have to. I love you lil one

"Welp ig we got the house to ourselves" she said as she finished buttering the last bit of toast. Just as she put the toast down dayshawn, veah, Shay, and jay walked in the door. "Not anymore" I mumbled
D: aye I'm hungry what y'all cooked
Me: nigga yo ass always hungry and Ian cook for you
Shay stole a piece of bacon then went back to the couch
Me: nigga you not slick I saw that
Shay: aye a nigga starving
I rolled my eyes then fixed india a plate and sat it in the microwave while she went to put on some pants
Me: aye y'all niggas come get something and leave me alone

When india got back down the stairs I pointed to the microwave and she got her food out then sat next to me. Everyone finished eating and watched a movie then dipped leaving us alone again. India was laying on my shoulder when she looked up at me. I could tell she wanted to say something so I asked her what she was thinking about. " I think I'm ready to tell you about the dream now" "okay as long as you're ready mama"

India pov

We walked into my room and i shut the door then sat on the bed. "Okay so Des is my ex and she had many different issues mentally, everyone around her saw that she had very bad anger issues but she didn't see it like that. She saw it as everyone and everything pissed her off and if it didn't go her way then it's our fault . Anytime I would say something about going to the doctor or something she would get so angry that she started abusing me." Lei looked like she wanted to tear everything apart rn Bc of this. I took a deep breath and lei wiped a tear I didnt know had fell. She came over and wrapped her arms around me " it's okay babygirl you don't have to finish if you don't want to."

*Flashback*
Me: Des I really think you should see a doctor
She walked over to me with a cup in her hand
Des: what did you just say to me bitch
Me: I'm really concerned about you and these mood swings and random outburst when things don't do your way
As soon as she got closer I regretted what I said

Des: yk what I'm getting really sick and tired of your attitudes okay I don't need to see no damn doctor Bc I'm perfectly fucking fine.
She threw the cup but I dodged it. Next thing I know I was on the floor blocking punches and getting kicked.

When I woke up Leilani and Dantè were sitting beside me and I was inna hospital bed. My whole body was hurting but my lower half hurt the most. I opened my eyes as much as I could and looked up at them and asked what happened. They both looked at me kinda relieved. Dantè went to get a nurse and Leilani came over and held my hand. A few minutes later the doctor and a nurse came in to talk to me. "Hey india im glad to see you're up and talking, I'm Dr. Cortez can you tell me where you are?"
Me: "A hospital bed"
Dr: okay great now can you move your toes and fingers for me.
*5 minutes later he finished my exam and told me I was able to leave in the morning then asked if I had any questions*

"What happened?" "Well from what we saw when they brought you in it looks like you've been raped and beaten pretty badly." I burst into tears and Leilani squeezed my hand letting me know it was okay. The doctors stepped out to give me a minute. The next morning as they were signing my discharge papers Leilani told me that Des had been arrested and was being sentenced as an adult.
*end of flashback*

Lei hugged me and started wiping my tears away. "Hey hey it's okay mama breathe" I wanted to stay in her arms all day because she just made me feel so safe. She asked if I wanted to just stay in and watch movies today and I told her yes.
Lei: I gotta run out to pick something up for Shay do you want anything?
Me: ummm can you get me some peach rings and hot fries please
Lei: ofc mama and you want Fanta or sprite?
Me: get both just in case
Lei: Ight I'll be right back, gimme kiss I love you
Me: I love you too now hurry up please 🙂

When she got back we ordered pizza and wings then watched movies for the rest of the day until we fell asleep.
