Chapter 4- Friendship

It was Monday morning and I was very excited to meet up with Dylan again, we hadn't revealed our identities yet, I wouldn't initiate it but if he asked I would tell.

What do I have to hide?

I got dressed in a white dress with the help of the maids. it was clean and simple. I walked through the hallways, back straight with my head held high.

I walked into the dining room with a smile on my face. "Good Morning Mama and Papa" I greeted my parents, I really adored them. "Good-morning Ina" my mother responded as she kissed my forehead. "Good-morning my sweet Ina " my father spoke and picked me as he placed me into my chair.

We talked about our plans for the day, and I needed to ask for their permission to leave the manor, I was honestly prolonging it because I was scared even if you know they will say yes. Asking for anything always makes me nervous. "Papa may I go out again into the meadow?" I spoke in the sweetest voice I could. "Darling I want to say yes but yo-" My Mother cut him off" of course she can, right sweetheart?" My mother asked while giving him a glare.

"O-of course she can" My father smiled as I got up and kissed their cheeks and excused myself as I walked out with a smile that made its way onto my face with the thought of seeing Dylan.

I told the maids and a few knights to watch from a distance per my fathers orders and I went to the meadow. I sat under the old oak tree. I closed my eyes and just relaxed it felt so nice. The wind flowed through my hair and onto my face. The ground beside me shifted, I grinned. "Dylan" I looked at him, he smiled "Hey Athena, how are you?" "I'm doing well, you should call me Ina. My friends call me Ina" I beamed a awarding winning smile. " We are friend?" he asked unsure. "Of course we are silly, We are going to be the best of friends" I held out my pinky.

"Why are you holding out your pinky finger Ina?" he asked. "It's a promise, hold out yours" I asked him. He did and I interwinded them. "Friends Forever" I smiled at him. "Friends Forever" he repeated.

We talked and played, I'm honestly thinking to make playing cards cause I was so fucking good at any card game. I could make money off it too.

We talked for what felt like minutes but you know what they say..

3 hours feel like 10 minutes with the right person.

I bid Dylan fair well since it was getting rather late. I made my way back home. I ate dinner with my parents after refreshing. It's become a routine, a routine I would like to stay.

I went to sleep that night in pure ecstasy, I felt like I was completely the wishes of my inner child that never got to complete them because she had to grow up too fast.

Time Skip

The next 3 years went by so fast, I got closer to Dylan and he started talking about his mother, slowly but surely and I made sure to comfort him without asking too many questions. He told me he was from a noble family and soon he would have to start his heir training with more rigorous classes. I felt bad so I also told him I was from a noble family. He smirked.

Honestly like he already knew.

"Really I wouldn't have guessed, hmm cute dresses and the hair oh my, Ina do you think i'm stupid. I already knew that Miss Goodwin" My eyes widened and he smirked even wider. Dylan isn't introduced to Athena in the book until she was 12 and he was 15, the age they got engaged which is 4 years from now. " Dylan Newsworth" he smiled and extended his hand. " Mr. Newsworth" I smiled and took his hand into mine. "Miss Goodwin" he said and I giggled. "I am going to miss you so much Ina" he said while pulling me into a hug "Me too DD, I won't fall behind" I said. "Mhm I would not want you too" he pulled away and kissed my forehead.

Instantly, I felt butterflies in my stomach. I smiled and pulled his head down since he was a head taller then me and did the same.

We got closer and shared so many secrets over three years. In about one year, his mother gets assassinated, I hope it goes along with the dialogue of the book.

I made my way back into the Manor. I Greeted everyone and made my way to the library and buried myself in books since I knew that I wouldn't see Dylan until my Debut at 10.

I smiled at the thought of him, We could lean on each other during times, I was so scared though, I could not do anything to help him.

I know I would only make things worse.

I devote all my time and energy to studying and learning Swordsmanship along with Heir duties. My father appointed me his heir since I was his only child and he could.

I was a prodigy, naturally and also thanks to my skills and abilities from my past life.

I am thinking of creating my own forces in the underworld, since it's good to always have a backup anything and everything.
