"FUCK" Sapnap hissed in pain as he dropped his lighter onto the ground, the flame going out at the loss of pressure from the boy's thumb.
The blaze hybrid ran into a nearby bathroom, quickly turning the sink on to a cold temperature. He put his hand underneath the running water, hoping the pain would go away.
If anything, he knew he was overacting. He ever so slightly burnt the tip of his finger while lighting a piece of wood on fire. The hybrid should've been used to heat by now, especially since he used to live (and is from) the nether. Though, after he moved to the overworld, he started to get sensitive to the flames overtime.
The cold water just barely helped the pain as he turned the sink off. Even after, his urges weren't gone, he still wanted to finish what he started. He wanted to see the item light up in flames, but he wasn't sure exactly why. It wasn't exactly a power trip, it was more of a satisfaction thing.
The hybrid looked into the mirror, examining his face, his eyes had bags from the lack of sleep, but not too noticeable. His hair was a mess, the boy's bangs almost covering his eyes. He didn't stand there for long before going back to his and Karl's shared room.
Luckily for Sapnap, his partner wasn't home at the time. The human knew his boyfriend had an obsession with fire, but he wasn't sure how far it went. And Sapnap was completely fine with that.
He was ashamed of all the items he has burned out of wanting to calm down the urge. Especially the important things with actual sentimental value. It took a lot for him not to start a flame and throw his engagement ring in the burning pile. Not out of anger or despair, just because of the need for satisfaction in the back of his mind.
Burning paper, plastic, and other simple things wasn't helping anymore. It only satisfied the hybrid's mind for less than a hour or so.
Sapnap picked his lighter back up from the floor, immediate going back to trying to set the wooden plank on fire. It did take some gasoline to actually make it light, wooden stuff wasn't as easy. Especially with bigger items of said material.
Holding the bottom of the plank, making sure not to burn his hand again, he watched as the brown slowly turned to black, ash falling off the sides.
It took so much in the blaze hybrid not to go outside with liters of lighter fluid, and burn the entire forest next to the kingdom him, his partner, and George took so long to establish. But god was it tempting, and god did it make him feel guilt in the pit of his stomach.
Sapnap would light the entire world on fire if he could. He doesn't want to hurt anyone he knows, of course fucking not. He cares about his friends and family so much, but the back of his mind wants to see it all in flames. He wouldn't, of course. But sometimes, he wants to.
He wasn't even sure when it started, when he got so mesmerized by the red and orange hues. Maybe it was when he did in fact, burn down several trees at once. When he did burn down a forest and everything in it. Or maybe it started before then, but he didn't listen until there was a perfect opportunity.
Eventually, he got bored. After a long while, a lot of the wood had fallen onto the floor once turned to ash. Sapnap dropped the remaining wood after the flame went down, the back of his mind now satisfied.
He fell back onto his shared bed, looking up at the ceiling. Even if it was just a piece of stupid birch, it made him feel awful. Guilt. And an assortment of feelings he couldn't (didn't want to) identify.
Everyone burns wood from time to time, for campfires or cooking, so he couldn't really understand why he felt so bad. Maybe because he wasn't actually using it? Because it was a waste of resources?
The hybrid turned on his side, firing his legs to his chest.
Whatever, he was done now. So he could finally get some rest.
