Chapter 2: See You Tonight
Class 1-A was something.
They sure had character-- you had to give them that.
As soon as you stepped into the classroom, the kids were buzzing with curiosity in their eyes. Many of them were chattering amongst themselves in an attempt to figure out who you were. Their guesses all ranged from new hero to ' whatever, she's a total babe.'
Your eyebrows shot up at that, and Aizawa didn't hesitate to shoot a look of warning at the small, purple child.
In all honesty, though, you barely had to introduce yourself to the class because one of the students beat you to it. His eyes were wide with wonder and excitement, his green hair bouncing as his head snapped up to look at you. He knew everything from your hero name to your quirk, strengths, and weaknesses.
"You're the underground hero, Beholder!" he mused, flipping through his notebook as if in search of something. "Your quirk, hypersensitivity, allows your senses to be much more accurate than those of the average human being! There was this one time when you were able to save victims caught under a collapsed building in record time by concentrating on the sound of their heartbeats-- I've never seen anything like it! Then, on another mission, you--" The moment he realized he had been rambling, the boy apologized, his cheeks burning red as he dipped his head in respect.
All you could do was let a soft huff of amusement, flashing him a reassuring smile.
You thanked the boy, whom you now know as Midoriya, for the introduction, making sure you let him know how genuine your words were. He relaxed visibly at that, his eyes shining with appreciation.
Seeing his enthusiasm, you let yourself take a deep breath and ignore the nerves that threatened to spike once again.
You explained that you would be working alongside All Might as their combat teacher, so they should expect many training sessions with you both. Your goal was to train them and help them develop their fighting styles while All Might was in charge of putting their progress to the test.
The class seemed thrilled by that, their faces lighting up as some vocally expressed their excitement-- others betting they would develop their fighting styles faster than their classmates. Their energy and enthusiasm were more contagious than you would've liked to admit; a smile had reached your lips before you had a chance to fight against it.
Once you had finished explaining the goals of your class, you thanked the kids for their time, laughing as they cheered in anticipation for their first class with you the next day.
Turning to Aizawa, you pushed your sunglasses up your nose, shading your eyes from the light that pooled through the glass windows. You dipped your chin slightly, feeling the class keeping their eyes on you as Aizawa's gaze met your own. "I'm supposed to meet with All Might in the teacher's lounge, but I haven't gotten the grand tour of the school yet," you admitted with a smile. "Could you point me down the right path real quick?"
He didn't answer immediately, letting a few beats pass before he furrowed his brow and frowned. A gentle breath escaped his lips as he ran a hand through his raven hair. "If you don't mind waiting, I could show you the way to the teacher's lounge."
