It was finally time to go back to school. I was excited to see Elizabeth and jake, but scared that people will make fun of me and that jake will know about the whole cancer thing and might not like me anymore. I don't know I was just scared.
When I walked into my first class everyone stared at me like I was the new girl again. I didn't think I looked that different. When we got to 4th period Brittany started to whisper in people's ears and look at me. I was really embarrassed, but the one person who I was scared for most still looked back at me smiled and winked. I was confused, how did Jake still like me when I don't even have hair. The teacher told us to get in our groups, when I walked over to Jake he was flirting with me. I said "why do you still like me when I don't have hair?" "Why not?" He answered with a smile on his face. We kept talking and working on our project. when the bell rang we walked out together, while Brittany was trying to get his attention he ignored her and walked me to my locker. We talked for a little just flirting with each other. I didn't even care if I was late to my next class, I was just so happy that he was talking to me.
At the end of the day my mom started asking me if people made fun of me and stuff like that, I told her about Jake and how he didn't even care that I had cancer. He still liked me, she was just happy that I was happy.
