Sorry for the long time it took to update! Was getting ready to fly out to see my Boyfriend who's now in the Army! :D This chapter may be a bit shorter compared to the last two, but I'll make it up to you by updating tomorrow as well :)
Chapter 3:
Growling out of anger, Zero stands up and faces Bart. "Bloody hell! Who let us drit this far t' these waters?" He shouts. I giggle silently as his pirate accent comes to light. His eyes shine in the candle light, his black hair having a soft yellow glow. I can tell that he's angry, but I do not fear him. I fear Bart's safety, and by the look of his face, he does too."Cap'n... I dunno sir. Farley was manning the wheel, but he's jus up and left! No one can find 'im sir!" Bart's voice shakes with fear, and I begin to question how powerful Zero really was.
"Search the ship! I want that bilge-sucking son of a buiscut eater found!" I flinch at the anger lacing his voice, his eyes darkening.
"Yes cap'n!" Bart runs out as Zero's hands find mine.
"Elizabeth... whatever you do, do NOT leave this cabin." Nodding, I wrap my arms around him. "I can't be losing you too." My heart skips a beat as he whispers the last part.
"Of course... But Zero? Please be safe..." Pulling away, he smiles at me.
"Me? Be safe? Good one. But i'll try, just for you sweetheart." He winks before running out the door, leaving me slightly shocked at his choice of words. I let out a huff, running a hand through my hair, my mind completely knotted with different situations that could have happened. I almost didn't miss the sweet sounding voice call out to me.
"She of sunlight hair, and ocean eyes, please, will you come help me? Child of The Water, the People of The Water need your help!" The voice, so innocent, so smooth and enticing. I quickly throw oopen one of the windows and look down, my eyes gzing upon a man. The man had brown hair, his eyes green as the grass back home. As I continue to look at him, I notice how he doesn't seem to have any legs, but instead, he has a tail.
"Are... Are you a merman?" I ask, dumbfounded. A sweet, melodic chuckle comes from his lips.
"Why, that is what the People of The Earth call us. I am simply called a man. But my people, my people are crying out for you! The ocean is angry, and has sent an unknown creature that has destroyed our homes! Please Liqina, help us!" I close my eyes, my heart rate picking up. I want to help so badly, but I don't know what to do. My breaths become airy, a panic attack staarting to set it. Fear of my own starting to swim through my veins at the thought of innocent beings getting hurt.
"W-what could I do to help? I don't even know what I'm capable of!" I call out, opening my eyes to look down at this man. His eyes fill with pain as the sound of women screaming cuts through our silence.
"Tell them to stop. We only need your help, no more blood needs to be shed. If you do this, Liqina, we will forever be in your debt." He holds his hand out as I look back at the cabin door. Taking a deep breath, I grab the sword Zero gave me, nd jump out the window into the water.
As I surface, I look back at the strange man, a smile on my face. "We should... we should go before Zero finds out I'm gone..." He nods and holds his hand out once again. I look from his face, to his hand, hesitant, but finally I make the last plunge and take it.
"My name is Akirim Vlasar, King of the People of the Water. Do not worry about holding your breath, as a Child of the Water, you will always be able to breathe, s long as your intentions are pure." My eyes widen at the realization I was holding a prince's hand, but before I could fix my hir to look more presentable, he dives under water.
