A group of travelers slowly approach the glass wall. It was as tall as a skyscraper and was so wide that it disappeared beyond the horizon.
The travelers stopped to look back on the ruined and desolate city behind them as they braced themselves to cross to the other side.
They stepped through one by one without issue, but when it came time for the youngest of the group to cross over, she could not. She pressed her hand on the wall just for it to turn a solid white color at all the contact points.
A feeling of dread and confusion quickly engulfed the elders as they tried to figure out what to do next. But the young girl couldn't help but admire the sheer scope of the wall.
Nightfall slowly approaches and the group decided to set up camp next to the wall by the young girl. On her side, the temperature quickly fell and a thunderstorm developed above the city.
The young girl went and sat on a bench and watched the storm brewing. She observed all the different colors in the lightning and the way it struck the tallest buildings that were left standing.
As the evening progressed into nighttime she pondered why the elders looked so horrified at the fact that she couldn't make it through the wall. She began to question if she would be able to make the rest of the journey with them and broke down in tears.
She eventually cried herself to sleep and tried to remain hopeful that things would be different in the morning.
As the sunlight peaked the city and shined on her face she shot up from the bench and ran to the elders.
They greeted her and handed her the teddy that she had been traveling with, the elders noticed that something was different about the girl but all decided with a subtle look that they wouldn't draw any attention to it yet.
She requested a little more time to explore the area since she wasn't afraid of being alone anymore and they all agreed to believe it would give them all time to talk but as she turned her back to them their suspicions were confirmed...wings as white as snow was revealed and before they could say anything she vanished into the forest never to be seen again.
