"...and he also said you two made out for... What, an hour?"
"Three. Pretty sure he said three."
Cassie let out an audible snort as she placed the cup of espresso and the doughnut on the counter. Frylock noticed the girl's amused expression as he took a small sip of smoldering hot coffee.
"I suppose you wouldn't be surprised to learn we didn't do anything like that?" She questioned, earning a small shake of his head.
"I'm really not. What I am surprised about is that the date lasted more than five minutes. How did you manage to put up with him for so long?"
Cassandra lifted an eyebrow.
"Is it that surprising?"
"You have no idea."
"Lucky..." Meatwad added, munching on his doughnut and visibly pouting. Cassie was getting really curious. Seriously, how terrible could Shake be? At worst he seemed... Charmingly pathetic. Yeah, those were the best words she could find to define the guy for now."You guys live together, yeah?" She inquired. "He doesn't seem that bad... Lies a lot, though, doesn't he?"
The two acquiesced in unison. She wondered what brought these three together in the first place.
She also wondered how old Meatwad was. He was a kid, right? He seemed like a kid.
It wouldn't be very polite to ask, would it..."Just... Always question what he says and you should be fine. Probably."
"And don't let him set you on fire!" The short one added, clearly speaking from experience.
Well that was horrifying.
Cassie reached over the counter and ruffled his hair comfortingly.
"Hey, I won't hesitate to kick his ass when the time comes!" She assured. The boy seemed satisfied with that answer and went back to his doughnut. Frylock smiled and finished his cup.
"Good. That's what he needs."Just as he finished that sentence, the jingling of the bell at the door rung, followed by a familiar, indignant voice.
"You two-faced sneaky whores! What the hell are you doing here without me?"
Talk about an entrance.
Cassie simply gave a bemused smile as Frylock rolled his eyes and Meatwad sighed.
"Hello to you too, Shake."
The blonde sat next to his housemates, visibly out of breath. Frylock gave him his signature look.
"...Did you run all the way here?" He questioned, unfazed as ever but with a hint of a smile at the corners of his mouth. Shake gave him a glare and pointed an accusatory gloved finger at him.
"Don't change the subject." He hissed. "What kinda lies have you been telling my girl?"
Cassandra lifted her eyebrows a bit. "Your girl?" She repeated.
Shake's attention immediately turned to her as she leaned against the bar, obviously entertained by the scene before her.
"I meant that in the most respectful way of course, babe~" He cleared his throat slightly. "Anyway, don't pay attention to those losers. They're just jealous because I got myself a hot chick and they haven't."The woman exhaled through her nose and Frylock gave her an apologetic look. He sighed and began fishing in his wallet for a few dollars.
"You have more patience than I'd ever have." He said, sliding the money towards her. "We'll get out of your hair for now. This place is getting busy and you probably have better things to do."
"Great plan." Shake approved, shooing the other two away with a little wave of his hand. "Leave the adults alone."
"You too, Shake." Frylock sighed, pulling his roommate by the hood of his jacket.
"Wha- Hey! No!" He protested, his shoes hopelessly sliding over the floor tiles."Call me, okay?" He managed to call out before being pulled out of the door as Cassie gave him a little wave.
"Will do, you weirdo~"
