A double date was underway at Molly's. Deonna Purrazzo and Sylvie Brett were one couple. Kevin Atwater and Violet Mikami were the other. It was only a second date for the latter pair, but the first one had been a success. The group of four were sitting in a booth.
It was an ideal group for double dating. Purrazzo worked with Atwater and they were close friends, and Brett and Mikami were partners on Ambulance 61, and were also friends. It make for a relaxed and happy vibe over drinks, before they would later move on to a restaurant for dinner.
Purrazzo had just finished telling the story of that afternoon's surprise reunion with Sergeant Rousey, who had swapped numbers and ordered her to stay in touch. Brett was hearing it for the second time, not that she minded in the least.
"Ah, that's amazing. I'm so happy for you," Mikami gushed.
"Yeah, it is. Jay's one of the good guys," Atwater said. "I'm glad you've got such a good partnership with him. A very nice thing for him to do."
"Yeah, he's the best. He's taught me so much too," Purrazzo said. "So thankful to him, and to Sergeant Lindsay for putting me with him. You know what I don't understand?"
"Why she's not marrying him yet?" Brett asked intuitively.
"Yes!" Purrazzo cried. She wasn't sure how her girl knew what she was about to say like that so often, but she found it kind of adorable.
"Mmm hmm," Brett said, sipping her cocktail through a straw. Her tone said that she agreed.
Atwater laughed loudly. "I'd make a bet you two get married before they do. Erin's never seemed like the marrying type to me."
Purrazzo and Brett looked at each, and both of them started to blush.
Elsewhere that night, Raquel Gonzalez was about to begin her undercover assignment to infiltrate The Riot Squad Motorcycle Club. She was sitting on a two year old Harley-Davidson, parked up a couple of blocks from where The Riot Squad based themselves. Minutes from now, she would be meeting them, and hopefully being accepted as their Prospect, which basically meant a trainee member.
Dakota Crowley was standing next to Gonzalez. She had just given a few last minute pointers, most of which Raquel hadn't needed. She was more concerned with the pointers of her own, reminding Crowley of a few things she needed to keep in mind so as not to blow the operation and possibly get them both killed.
"Most importantly, what's my name?" Raquel asked.
"Victoria Fernandez. I haven't forgotten," Crowley said.
"Good. Make sure you don't. Okay, we're set, and it's almost time we were there. Lead the way."
Crowley nodded, then walked over to her bike and got back on it. They fired up their engines and cruised off up the street.
Shortly, they arrived at their destination, a place called Lynch's Irish Pub. Gonzalez hadn't been there before, which was fortunate, but from the outside she got the impression of a fairly typical dive bar. Lynch's, and the auto repair shop next door, which was ironically called Integrity Auto, was where the MC operated from. Integrity Auto was likely a combination of a legitimate business and a way to launder money. Time would tell. The fact that Integrity was owned by Ruby Riot, the President of The Riot Squad, made the assumptions highly likely to be accurate.
Crowley backed her bike in beside four others that stood in line outside the bar, leaving Gonzalez to do the same. She killed the engine and got off the bike. Getting off, she looked at the other bikes. Hers fitted in, without outclassing anyone else's. Perfect. She also figured she was dressed perfectly for the character she was now playing. Well worn blue jeans, a green and black lumberjack shirt, and sturdy brown boots that had also seen plenty of action. Showing up in all new gear would have looked distinctly suspect, so she had used some of her personal stuff.
