Chapter 1: The Big Surprise

"Darcy, give the dishes a rinse and put them in the dishwasher," pleaded Jackie as I was finishing my meal. "Fine," I groaned.

I rinsed of the dishes and put them in the dishwasher in a rush. I wanted to quickly finish the dishes off so I could talk to Ava. One more day till my birthday! I couldn't wait.

I dried my hands off with a towel and ran up the stairs to my room grabbing my iPhone from my bed. I collapsed on to the bed and went onto iMessage.

Me: Hey Ava! I'm so bored. lets plan what we should do for my bday!

Ava: Hi! Im so excited!

Me: I know right same here.

Ava: yup so who is coming?

Me: Okay so Bree said she could come and so did Emma. im not so sure if Sammy can make it cuz she wants ta go to school. oh, you can take your bf if you want.

Ava: okay awesome omgee i almost forgot! Plz come over right away need to show u something

Me: what is it?

Ava: it's a surprise!

Ava's POV

I ran up to my dresser and opened up the first draw. I grabbed the item that I wanted to surprise Darcy with. I know she will love it.

*Knock Knock*. I heard someone knocking on the door, distracting my thoughts about what Darcy would think. It was probably Darcy at the door, so eager to find out what the surprise was.

"Ava! It's for you!" I heard my 13 year old brother, Zack, scream in a dreamy voice from down stairs. He has a crush on all my friends, especially my best friend Darcy. He's so annoying!

"Coming!" I screamed back. I ran down the stairs, and just as I thought, it was Darcy.

Darcy's POV

The only thing that was on my mind was what was the surprise that Ava wanted to show me.

"Ava!" I exclaimed as I saw her running down the stairs. "Darcy!" she exclaimed back, in the same tone, with a little giggle at the end. I noticed Zack staring at me with his head leaning on the door. With about 2 seconds of silence, the silence was broken with Zack screaming, "Ouch! What as that for!" Ava just pushed Zack into the door! That must of hurt. Ava ignored him and grabbed my hand, running up the stairs while I was being dragged by her.

As we got to Ava's door, she said, "I will be back, wait here." So I waited. In an instant, Ava opened the door and quickly put both her hands behind her back. "Surprise!" she exclaimed holding her hands to my face. There were two papers in her hands, that looked like tickets. I read the inscription that was written on them. "One admit.. to one direction... backstage," I mumbled, taking me about 5 seconds to realize what I had just read. "AGHH! AVA!" I screamed and gave her the biggest, longest and tightest hug ever. "Haha, no need to be so thankful. They're just tick-" "Just tickets! They're not just tickets, they're ONE DIRECTION TICKETS! And not only are they just tickets, they're backstage!" I screamed at her face. "Okay calm down Darcy!" Laughed Ava.

Ava sat me down on her bed and our faces showed great excitement and happiness. I started to breath in and out, trying to control myself from screaming my head off. Simon wouldn't let me meet One Direction. He says that I can only meet them when I am more "matured" and older, aged 18 to be specific. He doesn't let me even go to their concerts, thinking I might faint like some other teens at their concerts. But honestly, I can control myself! I wonder how Ava got Simon to agree with this.

"Ava, how did you get Simon to even agree with this? You know, how he thinks I'm not old enough to go meet them?" I said. There was a long pause, and she took a deep breath. "Well, um you see..." Ava said. "Yes?" I said with a confused expression. "Umm, well..." She said. "You didn't ask for permission, did you Ava?" I said. "No, yes, maybe!" said Ava. There was a pause and both of us didn't speak until Ava broke the silence, "It's just that I thought because it was your birthday tomorrow, we could persuade him. And the concert is six days after your birthday! Thats not long. This is your early birthday present from me to you, and you have to accept it. Please?" "Ava," I said. "Okay well let's go to my house now and ask! I really want to go, and I don't want to give up this opportunity to meet the loves of my life!" "let's go then!" said Ava, smiling and we were off.

Ava's mum dropped us off and we ran towards Jackie. We thought that maybe if we told Jackie before hand, who was less strict, that we might have an advantage, that she could help us tell Simon.

"Darcy, Ava, what's wrong?" Said Jackie. "Me and Ava have something to tell you Jackie," I replied. "And we need your help!" exclaimed Ava, finishing my sentence. "Well, what is it girls?" Said Jackie. We explained to Jackie about everything. After a minute of Jackie thinking, she said with hesitation, "Okay. But I don't think it will be easy to convince Simon, you know how protective he is of you Darcy." "Yup, we know!" Ava and I said in unison.

"Simon darling, the girls have something to say to you," said Jackie when we finished of our meals. "What is it?" Said Simon. "Well, Ava got me an early birthday present! And it is a present that I really like. It is... uh it's..." I said nervously. "It's Tickets for a One Direction concert," said Ava finishing off what I couldn't say. She can so read my mind.

"Okay. That's great, thank you Ava but, as you probably know I don't want Darcy to go meet One Direction just yet," Said Simon. "She isn't going to meet them! We are just going to the concert, besides, we could take a body guard with us. Oh and I will take good care of her, you can trust me. It's also her birthday tomorrow, so please Simon," Said Ava. "Okay sure. Just don't get into to much trouble," replied Simon.

What! Is he serious? That was easy. "Oh my gosh! Thanks so so so much! I love you," I said in excitement. "Thanks Simon. I knew you would say yes," smiled Ava.

Okay so what did you think about this chapter? I know, BORING! But it should get more interesting later on.

Note that the texting part isn't supposed to have good grammar/spelling ect. Because they're texting! Lol

Oh and also note that this is when One direction became famous and stuff, which your probably already realized.
