Laying in bed watching The Penthouse on my TV with a heat pack along with Jake's oil patches gift on my neck, my door suddenly opens and it was Jake. Peeking his head in my room, he looks at me.
"Sunoo and the two others are back." He informs me. "I know you wanted to know."
"Oh," I get up immediately.
About to walk to the door and go downstairs, Jake catches me by surprise when he pulls my wrist gently. I freeze and look at him in confusion. He gives me soft, comforting eyes.
"How's your neck, Shiyeon? It's been a few hours. Is the oil patch working?" His eyes become a bit curious, like a puppy.
"Thanks for asking. It's actually working a lot. My neck feels a lot better. Thank you again, for your help." I politely smile at him.
His eyes become shy and his cheeks turn a shade of pink. Internally, I become shocked by this; whenever Jake's with other girls, he's always so confident, sly, and arrogant. But right now, in front of me, he's actually shy and embarrassed.
Is the world ending right now?
Is this really Jake Sim?
I'm seriously so confused at this moment.
Jake Sim is actually being shy, and not cocky for once in his life.
"I'm glad it's working for you. I was wondering for the past few hours how your neck is doing, I just didn't have any excuse to come up to your room until now." He scratches the back of his head in embarrassment, his other hand in his sweatpants pocket.
"Thanks for worrying, Jake."
He nods his head. I grab my phone and go downstairs with Jake, seeing the addition of my brother and the two other younger guys with the others in the living room and kitchen.
Jungwon notices me and runs up to me, giving me a big hug.
"Noona!" He exclaims, squeezing me.
"Hey, Jungwon," I chuckle.
Letting me go, Sunoo comes up to me and also hugs me quickly.
"Noona," he calls me.
"I'm sorry I didn't get you ice cream. Riki was whining too much about his legs hurting, so we had to rush home. Sorry, noona." He says while pulling away.
"Hey! That's not true, hyung! I wasn't whining. No man whines." Riki crosses his arms, huffing.
"It's okay, Sunoo. Riki, you kinda sound like a baby right now." I grin.
"Shiyeon, how's your ne-"
"SHIYEON, do you like soccer?" Jake quickly interrupts Jay's sentence.
Thank god. Jake just saved me from being yelled at by Sunoo.
Sunoo worries a lot about me. I'm the only person he has left when it comes to blood-related family, so he clings to me and makes sure I'm healthy at all times; which means he overly worries and cares about me. Everyone else in our family left us and we only have each other now. That's why I'm still living with him at 20 years old. He's my baby brother and we protect each other.
I know it sounds bad to hide things from my baby brother, but he really does overly worry and get panicked easily, so I don't want to stress him out.
Besides, a stiff neck is no big deal.
"Soccer's nice. I like figure skating, though." I respond.
"Hey! I figure skate!" Sunghoon smiles brightly and proudly.
