Chapter 5: Play To Win

TWO WEEKS AGO...

Y/N P.O.V.    Location: Kayama Household

(Midnight) - You know, kiddo, I can recommend you for the hero course if you want me to. Being a teacher doesn't matter, they will let me do that.

(Y/N) - Mom, I appreciate the offer, but I share a similar opinion with Uncle Shota about recommendations - granted our reasons might be different, but...

(Midnight) - What is it?

(Y/N) - ...It's not rational. It doesn't make sense. The hero course students should have to EARN their way into the hero course. Granted, most of them do, but the whole recommendation system is nothing more than blatant favoritism - some rich kid with a famous family and a half-decent quirk gets their spot handed to them on a silver platter - what about the kid who earned their spot and wanted it that got replaced with the rec. student?

(Midnight) - ...I understand. It's not fair.

(Y/N) - Exactly. It's survival of the fittest. We're going all-out in those mecha-mania thunderdomes after the written exams, and if I'm going to get bumped, I'm going to lose my spot to somebody who's using their quirk and natural talent better than I am.

(Midnight) - ...*smiles* That's my boy.

ONE WEEK AND TWO DAYS AGO...

Y/N P.O.V.       Location: Hostpital - Room 315

(Y/N) - ...Okay. One more time - what happened. Clearly this time.

(Izuku) - I-i broke my arm. I was trying to learn how to use One For All.

(Katsuki) - ...Well, you know how to use it now.

(Izuku) - Not funny, Kacchan.

(Y/N) - ...You're going to have to learn how to budget the power. In the meantime, you'll need something to help you recover. Give me a minute.

I sit on one of the chairs, and close my eyes, delving into the depths of All For One. I've been experimenting with my ability to make new quirks from duplicates of the old ones. Let's see what I can do...

Okay... make two copies of Super Regeneration, make a copy of Boost Effect, and duplicate Automate... Add Painkiller for a bonus...

Mix it all together, and... Voila.

Automatic Restoration

There we go.

I open my eyes again, and walk towards Izuku's bed. Everybody(All Might, Mom, Izuku and Katsuki's mothers, and Izuku and Katsuki themselves) look at me expectantly.

(Y/N) - Brace yourself. I don't know whether or not this is going to hurt.

He tenses up, and I place my hand on his head, activating All For One, and everything goes dark.

All of a sudden, I'm surrounded in a black area covered in fog. A figure emerges from the fog, a white-haired man with bright green eyes looking at me with a mix of surprise and contempt.

(Unfamiliar Person) - ...You're not my brother. 

(Y/N) - ...

I take a wild guess at who this person is. I'm fairly confident in my guess.

(Y/N) - ...Well, children are not their fathers. I'm assuming you must be Uncle Yoichi?

(Yoichi Shigaraki) - Yeah. You must be Y/N Kayama.
