I watched her peacefully sleeping. Holding the teddy bear she had named Fredrick. She had my hoodie on, she moved a small bit, but ultimately fell back asleep. She rubbed her eyes a small bit, finally opening them a small bit. Her face lit up when she realized who was watching her. "Hi daddy!" She mumbled a small bit. She held her arms out to me and gave me grabby hands. I moved her over so I could lay in bed with her. "I missed you." I smiled down at her. "I missed you too daddy! I missed you so much." She exclaimed excitedly. I rubbed her head. I felt her smile against me. My sweet little girl.

"So Princess, what would you like to do today hmm?" I asked her. She played with her hands as I brushed her hair. She always gets nervous to ask me for things. "Princess, words please." I tell her. I've worked with her to get her to use her words. She just isn't so good with words when she's little. I finished brushing her hair and I kissed her four head. "Thank you Daddy." She smiles up at me. God, I want to look at that face for the rest of my life. "Now, would you like something to eat? How about Waffle House?" I ask. Her face lights up and she shows me her beautiful smile. She gets dressed rather quickly. And I walk her to my truck.

We get to Waffle House and I immediately grab her hand, she tends to wander often. We get a booth together and I begin to talk. "We will need to go home and pack your things. We've got to get on the road. That way you can see your new room." I tell her. He face lights up at the thought of her new room. "Daddy, can I get chocolate milk?" She asks me. "Yes, but I'll order for you. I know you aren't good at talking to big people." I smile at her. She smiles and nods her head. I order food for us and we eat. She continues to ask me questions about her new room. "Am I gonna have to sleep by myself? I like sleeping with you." She asks. "No, the only time you'll sleep by yourself is for naps and when you get in trouble." I tell her. I pay for our food and I walk us back to my truck.

I drive and she plays the music. She sings to her favorite songs, the biggest smile on her face. We shop for some things, she holds my hand happily. I could tell she was getting a little sleepy. "Daddy, sleepy." She mumbles. She normally doesn't want me to carry her, but I think she quit caring. She let me carry her. A couple odd stares from people, but I didn't care. I held her, my entire world in my arms.

I placed her in her bed. I checked the time, and I realized it was time for me to leave. I didn't want to leave her. But I looked at her and she was already peaceful sleeping. I tucked her in and gave her the bear she loves. I told her I loved her. I locked up the house for her, she was the only one there. I didn't want to leave her there on her own. But it would only be a couple hours before David would be home.

Hours passed, she slept for a long time when she took naps. But this was unusually long. I stay up in my room most of the time. My little brother annoys me, he's so annoying. My dad stays out of town, my mom works night shifts. It's usually just me and my brother. But it was midnight, a knock on the door this late is unusual. Mom had a key, but maybe she lost it. I opened the door. There she was. Out of breath, covered in dirt, blood, her hair a mess. Tears in her eyes, her eyes looking up at me. "Did you walk here?" I ask. Pulling her inside, she sat in the floor of the kitchen. "Did David bring you here?" I ask, no response. Ian, my brother, soon came downstairs. "Christina, what happened?" He asked, a little freaked out. No response. "Ian, go back upstairs." Ian just looks at Christina, not hearing a word I said. Ian sits in the floor with her. "Ian, you've got 2 fucking seconds to get out of here. Or I'm going to beat the shit out of you." I say to him. Ian doesn't say anything but he leaves. I look at Christina. I finally really start looking at her. She's bleeding, bad. I pick her up and put her on the counter. I pull her shirt up, she hadn't been hurt by someone else. Then why the hell was she bleeding so bad. Was it her blood? Was it someone else's? "Christina, you have to talk so I know what to do to help." I say to her.

"All of my stuff is on your porch. I'm ready when you are." She mumbles. I look at her. "Are you sure?" I ask.

"Get me the hell out of this town Evan."
