///Every convo in this chapter is meant to be in Japanese, along with any Japanese exclamation such as -chin, -kun etc. but I don't trust google translate to actually write them in Japanese so here ya go besties.//
"Hey Aya! Don't walk that fast girl, you're killing me!"
"Don't walk that slow if you can't catch up."
Kuon, once at a close enough range, gently but swiftly grabbed Ayaka's shoulder stopping her and turning her body around so that they're facing each other.
Once she caught her breath she talked;
"Aya seriously, he's not being chased down by anyone. He won't leave if we arrive on time and not 15 minutes earlier. I'm not even sure he will be there before the agreed time himself!"
Ayaka lastly turns her head around an annoyed aura dancing around her facial features along with a feeling of rush.
"But of course he won't leave! He wouldn't do that." She continues after a short sigh, "But w- I, do have to make good impression. And it won't happen if we arrive as if we stopped mid-walk to get mochi or something!"
"Yeah right. Along with the two hundred other good impressions you've made the past two years!"
Both pause. Kuon's agitated expression accompanying her retort slightly fading into a more distressed and tired one. Ayaka's stare turns into a soft glare, feeling vaguely offended by her best friend's comment which was somewhat, if not completely, true.
Kuon lets out her fifth sigh of the hour. "Look, he is a greatly considerate and nice dude, he is also...."
"Also?? What Ku."h
Silence. While Kuon tries to find the right words stammering silently to herself as to not further offend her friend.
"What... Ku spit it out already."
"E-eh... he is a bit...well-"
"WHAT KUON!"
"Artless! He is quite the oaf if you ask me! So, he won't even realise that you made an effort or that your actions were effortless."
Oaf??? Ok she might have gone a bit overboard with this adjective. He wasn't an idiot. He was just, a bit moony, inattentive some would call him. He really only cared about goofing off, parties...
Ayaka stared back at Kuon with a look that gave off multiple emotions. Shock, anger. Of course. Also strickenness, offence, defensiveness...
...protectiveness???
"A-ay-"
"Kuon, if you don't want to join us you are more than welcome to head home. But I will not let the man of my dreams think I'm some kind of inconsistent hussy ok?" She starts to walk in the direction of the destination she so badly wanted to reach prematurely.
"Hussy? Oh ok a bit of an exaggera-" She got cut off again by Ayaka having paused her newly launched into, powerwalk giving Kuon the deathliest of the glares the black haired girl had received today.
"Ok no, I will not abandon you, I would never." She almost snaps, her naturally caring, calm voice masked the retaliation, as she walks towards to stand next to her best friend.
They start pOwer walKinG (ok yes I DO hate exercise pls-) through the suburban Japanese neighborhood filled with cherry blossom trees, slowly reaching the end of the fauna their cit had to provide, heading into a more urban scenery.
