Chapter One

It's been five hours and I'm still here in the attic laying at the carpet while staring at the ceiling and listening to the radio mindlessly thinking what's happening in our country and all the things that i took for granted when everything was still normal, I still couldn't believe that suddenly, everything changed.

Two weeks ago i was just in the school hanging out with my classmates; enjoying my meal at the canteen but now, I'm here inside our house, hiding trying to save my life.

Everything was normal not until a pandemic broke in the country of arniya where i was born and raised. It was a disease that can spread through direct contact where the infected person get crazy and turned into rouges.

It's been a week since the disease started to spread in our city and up until now people from the higher level can't still determine where this disease came from and how it started.

Everyone all over the country are starting to panic because the virus spreads like a wildfire, the people are already locking the door of their houses worried that the infected one might suddenly attack them, us, every stores in the city is either destroyed or shut down that makes it harder for every survivor to get food supply.

After staying at the attic for awhile I decided to go downstairs to grab something to eat when suddenly.....

Hey aria! Where have you been? I've been looking for you! Come on we have to hurry and go to the central place it is almost dawn, everyone in our neighbourhood have been hurrying to get to the site. We don't wanna be left out here aren't we!?

My younger brother, aris came up to me and grab my arm telling me that everything in the city is already in chaos and that we have to leave our house.

"Yeah i know, i heard it on the radio, how about mom and dad? Where are they? I was just on the attic listening to the radio. "

I have been staying at the attic for a while since it's the only place in the house where i can get a signal and i was also trying to contact gia, my older sister who left the house to go on trip with her friends two weeks ago before this chaos happened.

I heard from the news that the government officials of the country prepared a place for all the survivors since it's getting harder to control what's happening in the country, in each City there is a provided shelter for every survivor left while the doctors and scientists are trying to find solutions to resolve the pandemic.

"Mom and dad left a note on the counter top, they went to the near city to find some food since we don't have enough supply." Aris replied.

Well then we should inform them that we have to go to the central city before dawn, we need to get there before sunrise.

Yeah I've already messaged them and I'm just waiting for their response, they should be on their way here now since it's been four hours since they left.

We should just hurry and pack our stuff.

As aris run off towards his room i went upstairs where my room is to pack my stuff. After opening the door of my room I hurriedly get my backpack placed under my bed since its been ages since i last use it, i place it on my bed and went to my cabinet to get some clothes and throw it on the bed, i also went to the bathroom to get my toiletries and put all those stuff inside my bag.

After packing all my stuff, I grab my pair of black denim pants that hangs on my chair beside my bed and put it on to pair it with my white shirt, i also decided to wear my blue nike jacket

After changing my clothes, i grab my pair of black converse and sit on my bed to wear my shoes while shouting asking my brother if he receive any reply from our parents, after putting on my shoes, i grab my backpack and went directly to the door.
