Chenle leaned against the alley wall, a cigarette in hand, his intention to light it up halted by an unexpected sight. Jisung was there, across the street, his figure catching Chenle's attention. As Chenle observed him, he couldn't help but notice the change in Jisung's appearance. Gone were the baggy clothes that had become a sort of shield, replaced by something different, something that drew Chenle's concern.
A pang of worry tugged at Chenle's chest as he observed Jisung. Even from a distance, he could see the subtleties—the way Jisung's clothes hung a bit looser on his frame, the way his posture seemed to carry a weight. Just one look was enough to evoke a sense of concern and empathy within Chenle.
Chenle had moved past the stage of mere curiosity. He had seen enough to recognize the signs, the patterns of behavior that indicated struggles beneath the surface. He understood that Jisung was dealing with something deeper, something that he wasn't comfortable sharing openly. But Chenle's determination to help and understand had only grown stronger with time.
For now, Jisung remained unaware of Chenle's presence in the alley, and Chenle decided to keep it that way. He didn't want to invade Jisung's privacy, especially when it seemed like Jisung was already grappling with his own self-consciousness. Chenle himself had been through enough to understand the importance of respecting boundaries.
As Chenle watched from a distance, he made a mental note to ask Jisung about his well-being in a way that felt comfortable and non-intrusive. He knew that Jisung had his own struggles, just as he did, and that understanding and support were crucial in moments like these. Chenle also reminded himself to be patient, to offer his friendship and understanding when Jisung was ready to open up.
With that in mind, Chenle crushed the cigarette beneath his shoe, the unspoken promise to be there for Jisung driving his determination. He knew that sometimes, a listening ear and a genuine concern could make a world of difference for someone who was battling their own demons.
