Chapter 7 - The Locked Room

Both of them then went back to their room after their regular fighting sessions. And lying on their respective sides slept peacefully waiting to see what happens with them in the future.

Few days later :

A few days had passed since that kitchen incident. Sameer used to always stay in an irritated mood because of the extra work that had come into his hands after their company had signed a huge deal a few days back. As a result of this mood, Sameer sometimes used to lash out at Naina for really small mistakes and because of this both of them were just trying to ignore each other.
They used to meet at the breakfast table and after that if possible during dinner.

Sameer - ( *descending down the stairs* ) Naina naasta do jaldi mujhe late ho raha hai

Naina - Haa layi rukiye

Sameer - Maine kitni baar kaha hai mere aane se pehle sab ready rakha karo par nahi meri sunogi kyun tum? Abhi agar 1 minute ke andar nahi ayi toh ja raha hu main office samjhi?

Naina - Aree chilla kyun rahe hain la rahi hu na naashta

Naina - ( *serving him* ) Lijiye khaiye abhi late ho raha tha na
( *To herself* ) Office start hota hai 9 baje aur ab baj rahe hain subha ke 7 ye office jakar kya jhadoo pocha bhi karte hain?

Naina was saying this to herself but unfortunately Sameer heard it.

Sameer - Main pocha lagau ya jo bhi karu tumse matlab? Aur yeh sab business ki baate tumhe samajh nahi aengi. Toh zyaada socho mat

Naina - Mujhse kya matlab hoga? Aap jhadoo lagaiye pocha lagaiye ya fir chaukidaar banke baith jaiye mujhe kya?
( *To herself* ) kitna tana maarte hain pati hai meri sautan?

Sameer - Pati hi hun tumhara, par tumhari pyaari pyaari harkate mujhe daantne par majboor kar deti hain ( note the sarcasm )

Naina - ( *To herself* ) Ye bhi sun liya? Insaan hain ki kya hain? Kahi bhoot toh nahi ye? Lag toh waisa hi raha hai warna konsa normal insaan itna khadoos hota hai?

Sameer was being able to hear everything that Naina was saying to herself. And as soon as he heard this, he got up from his seat. And turned around to face Naina, meanwhile seeing his fast actions, the colour faded away from Naina's face.

Sameer - Kya kaha? ( *husky voice* ).

Sameer started taking slow steps towards Naina while Naina out of nervousness started walking backwards. Her mind had gone blank and she was not being able to see anything else except Sameer.
Sameer kept walking towards Naina, while Naina kept going back until she eventually got obstructed by the sofa. She couldn't go any back and escaping wasn't an option. As Sameer would easily catch her. So she just stood there not being able to do anything else. Sameer too came slowly and stood right infront of her.
There was almost no more distance left between them, Sameer smirked at this and slowly started bending down to Naina's height, eyeing her lips. Naina's lips started quivering and out of nervousness she closed her eyes waiting for his lips to probably land on her's. But instead of kissing her, Sameer got down to her height and stretching his hand picked up his coat that was lying on the sofa right behind her.
On not feeling anything, Naina again opened her eyes just to see her husband standing infront of her with a silly smirk on his face.

Sameer - Naina main toh sirf apna coat le raha tha tumhe kya laga? ( *smirked* )

Naina - ( *thinking* ) Coat? Aur ban toh aise bhole rahe hain jaise pata hi nahi mujhe kya laga.

Naina - Na-nahi kuch nahi

Saying this Naina was about to leave the place but Sameer caught her just in time.
