An Owl flew through the sky, observing the forest below. She watched as all the young owls played together, a tear falling down her face. She closed her eyes, falling into a trance. Laughing, playing, joking, falling, crying, waking up on the ground in tears. This happened far too often. She got off the ground and walked a little, making sure she wasn't hurt too bad. Whenever she flew, she fell asleep and woke up after crashing. These dreams were about friends, ones she didn't have. The owl teared up again, wishing for a friend. She wanted someone to lean on when she was sad, someone to make her happy when she needed it most, and just someone to play with her. Her mother ignored her and her father was long gone, so she needed this. The young Owl flew into the herd, greeting the others. She tried to make a friend, but failed. That was when she saw a man. The owl saw a young man himing theough the forest, so she flew towards him.
"Why hello, forest friend," he said as he pet the owl. He gestured for her to fly onto his shoulder, the Owl following along. He talked to the Owl for hours, eventually reaching his house. "You can come in if you'd like," he said, opening the door. He felt a connection, decidinf to adopt her as a pet. She willingly left home to live with her new owner, Philip Wittlebane. The two of them spent the next 2 years together, until they accidnetially stumbled upon a portal into an odd world, one known as the boiling isles. In the Isles, they tried to find a way home. Meeting with witches and demons, Philip worked to build a portal home. He wrote a journal about his travels, eventually finishing the new portal. In activation, it sent the Owl home, Philip's only goal. Now that he sent the Owl home, he could work on his true goal; ruling the Isles. He killed the titan and used it's blood to preserve his youth, consuming Palismen to create an artificial Bile Sack in his body to cast magic. Over the years, he realized that it mutated him, meaning he needed to continue drinking Titan Blood and Palismen to stop himself from transforming into a mutant demon, maintaining his youth and increasing his magic. He renamed himself Belos to strike fear in the eyes of the Isles, knowing that if anyone knew he was human, there would be rebellion. Meanwhile, the Owl wanted to find a way back. She eventually gave up after a year, flying around to have another dream, but this one was different. She was sitting in a nest with a young lady, but she had pointed ears, so it was a witch! The Owl was holding a baby, a warm feeling having overcome her. She felt complete in those moments, waking up from the dream, having landed smoothly. This was different from the other dreams, the end being happy. She knew she needed to go back, and she did. After 2 more years, she found an odd, wooden Owl. She followed it, leading through a portal, to see a young witch. That was how she met Edalyn Clawthorne, a young witch who took her thriugh the portal.
After a year back in the Isles with Eda, the Owl gave birth. She was old now, dying as her egg hatched, seeing a little owl in her dying breaths. Eda didn't know what to do with the Owl, so she called him Hooty and kept him.
Eda didn't know how to care for him, but she tried. She fed him worms mostly, since that is what she assumed he ate. He lived and was happy, until Lilith came with a plan to get Eda in the emperor's coven. She was going to trap Eda in the door, then bring her to the coven and have Belos reverse it once she is contained. Lilith fired the spell, but ir hit Hooty and the worm he was eating, merging him with the door of Eda's home, and merging him with the worm to create a powerful worm demon.
Time passed as Hooty's mind further merged with the worm, until he was the lovable Owl we know today. Eda grew old and met king in this time, Hooty brckming neglected.
When Hooty was older, he was the portal to the human world, and went through. He went to an odd house, meeting Camilla Noceda. She fell for his irrisistable charm, the two of them hitting it off. He left eventually, not wanting Eda to knkw he went through. Hooty had an odd feeling nine months later, as if soemthing happened. He relaized Camilla must've had his kid!
Over a decade later, when Luz came eith Eda for the first time, he knew who she was, and did everything in his power to make her happy, even if that involved eating her crush.
