I dread for the worst, wondering what she's going to say.
"Joy, I'm really happy you got selected for ROSE", says Kara.I take such a huge breath, I almost choke on the air.
Thank goodness
"Thanks Kara", I reply with the voice of a dying frog. They don't seem to notice and Kara carries on.
"I did pass the ROSE exam, however, they didn't let me in because there weren't any more seats left", Kara says sadly.
I console her telling her that it's alright, and at least you did pass the test.
Wow, if Kara passed the test and didn't get in, ROSE teachers must only take in the best of the best.
I say I have to go, and wave to them saying bye. They wave back and I start walking to the ROSE building. My class has already went inside and I catch up with Yasmin and Henry. I start telling them why I was a bit late, and see another familiar face; however I remember his name.
Wesley
However, I don't remember him being so tall, he's even taller than the boy who waved at me before.
Must've had a growth spurt
So far there's only four people in this class that I know. Yasmin, Wesley, Henry and Tall, tall & tall.
We all start to go inside our classroom, which is classroom sixty-nine. I can see two boys looking at the sign which indicated the classroom number. They start snickering and-
Wait a minute, are they the same person? No, my eyes must be playing tricks on me.
I walk inside the classroom.
"Wow", I say out loud.
"Wow is right", says Yasmin.
The whole classroom had a chess theme with black and red squares on the walls. The floor had was entirely covered with a red carpet. The middle of the room had a mat with a beautiful black rose. On one of the walls, the was the ROSE symbol. It looked interesting so;
"Should we go take a closer look there?", I ask.
"Sure", replies Henry.
"I wasn't asking you Henry, but okay", I say causing Yasmin to smile and Henry to groan.
We move closer to the Wall. It really is spectacular, with the same chess pattern, however, with a big oval in the middle, and inside the oval the word ROSE written in golden letters. I move closer and closer put my hand out to touch it, but then-
"Aahh!", I say loudly and jump back.
Mr. Giraffe (Tall, tall & tall) was also reaching out to touch it, but our hands brushed.
Ugh how did I not see him there?
Thankfully Yasmin was too busy talking to Henry to notice anything, and my scream wasn't loud enough to attract any attention. I pull Yasmin and Henry away from there and Mr. Giraffe is still standing there expressionless, acting like nothing happened.
"Joy, where are you taking us?", asks Henry, annoyed.
Away
"Uhm, I wanted to look at this other wall, with the clubs", I lie.
"Okay, let go of us, and we'll go check them out", says Yasmin trying to escape my clutches.
I let them go and we go to a different wall far away from the one we were at just before. I look up and see some different signs about different clubs.
