Obsidian fell asleep in the back of the black car shortly after her rendezvous on the hood of it. Even though gems and gem fusions didn't usually need rest, she was technically one-fourth human.

It wasn't until around an hour later that she jolted awake, Aizawa standing above her with his hands guarding his head in case she flicked him again.

"We're here." He mumbled.

Obsidian jumped out of the car in excitement. The campus was beautiful, large futuristic buildings illuminated in the sunset and outlined with cherry blossoms. Every time a small breeze wafted past, the pink trees would jostle.

"Your exam is tomorrow morning. I'm guessing you're pretty jet lagged, so we have a room set up for you in the teacher's dorms." Aizawa grunted while pulling the Cookie Cat suitcase out of the trunk.

"Oh thank you, but no need! I brought my own room." Principal Nezu and Aizawa both looked at each other confused before Obsidian summoned a large bubble.

This bubble wasn't holding a stick of deodorant though. Hovering inside was the Gregmobile- Steven's Dad's van that Steven left Obsidian after he fused to create her. Obsidian popped the bubble, and the van groaned loudly as it dropped onto the ground.

"Ahhh, van sweet van."

Aizawa stood looking dumbfounded. Principal Nezu cleared his throat,

"Ahem, are you sure you will be... comfortable? It is supposed to be quite chilly tonight, and we have a rather luxurious bed set up for you in the teacher's dorm." Nezu smiled, although he looked quite confused himself.

"I appreciate the effort, but I think I'll sleep better in the van. Between you and me, I'm actually feeling pretty homesick..." Obsidian rubbed the back of her neck, "...I haven't left Beach City in 200 years, and all this change is a little scary."

Aizawa opened his eyes even further. Principal Nezu didn't tell him a lot about Obsidian, only that he needed to pick her up at the airport and that she was going to be a student at UA. So hearing that she was at least almost seven times his age was a little... jarring to say the least.

"Whatever makes you feel the most comfortable!" Nezu smiled warmly.

"Just please be on time for your exam tomorrow morning. Our Aizawa does not like getting up early, and I would hate for you to keep him and the other teachers waiting. Be sure to rest up! Our exams tend to be a little... difficult." With that, Principal Nezu walked away, Aizawa following him after a quick nod goodnight.

Obsidian wasn't nervous about the test. She knew that she had the skills needed to ace it, no problem. She was nervous about how new everything was. The only thing she had from home to comfort her was the van, and she wouldn't even be able to keep that after they assigned her to a dorm.

Maybe I could put the van in the dorm... Obsidian thought to herself after climbing into the heaps of blankets sprawled out in the back of the Gregmobile. She thought of how she could possibly fit it into a dorm room until she drifted off to sleep.

COOKIE CAT, HE'S A PET FOR YOUR TUMMY! COOKIE CAT HE'S- Obsidian groaned and rolled over to turn off the Cookie Cat alarm. This was the morning of the exam, and even though she wasn't nervous for it the night before, she could feel a ball of anxiety growing in her stomach.

After a couple of minutes of snoozing, Obsidian finally got up to start getting ready. She threw on a new pair of jean shorts and one of Steven's old t-shirts before stepping out of the back of the van to brush her teeth in the grass.

I was fineee with the mennn who would come into her life now and againnn... she sang to herself while brushing. Her first impressions of the UA campus were all nice. She liked how soft the grass was between her toes (she wasn't exactly a huge fan of wearing shoes), and she liked the pink cherry blossoms that lined each building. She loved that students would go running as the sun rose, and even spotted Aizawa on a jog in the early hours of the morning, which made her giggle. He didn't seem like the type of guy to enjoy anything other than sleep.

In order to soothe her worries, Obsidian decided to sit off the back of the van and strum out a few songs on the ukulele that Steven had left her. After two or three songs, it was time for her to start heading to the building that the exam was taking place in.

She got there right on time, remembering that Nezu told her Aizawa would be grumpy if she didn't.

"You must be Obsidian! Principal Nezu was just telling me how much he likes your van!" Obsidian turned to see who was talking.

"I'm Midnight, a professor here at UA. But for right now, I'm one of the exam judges." The woman was wearing a skin tight leotard, and cracked what seemed to be a small whip. Obsidian smiled at her, excited to finally see another lady.

"Let me explain to you how this exam is going to work, since it's a little different than how we usually do it. We have eight students total, four from class 1B and four from class 1A, who you will be fighting against in the arena. Their goal is to either knock you out of the arena or knock you unconscious. Your goal is to do the same to all four of them." Midnight smiled and clasped her hands together against her large chest.

"Oh! And here come the students now!"

Aizawa was walking over with four students behind him, and a rather large man in a red skin tight suit was following him with another four students. Each of the students was clad in their own hero costume, and Obsidian couldn't help but giggle at how cool they looked.

"Obsidian, this is Vlad King. Another professor here at UA, and the third judge for your exam." Aizawa lazily nodded to the large man in the red hero suit.

"It is good to meet you." Vlad King grouched. He sounded like if a dog could suddenly speak.

"These are students from my class, 1B. Introduce yourselves."

The first to step up and shake Obsidian's hand was the hairiest person she had ever seen.

"Jurota Shishida." He cracked a smile at her and quickly stepped back into his place in line. The next to step up was a tall blonde who appeared to be wearing... a suit?

"Neito Monoma. Don't be surprised if you find us harder to beat than class 1A. Even if they get all the stardom, they're still just a class of wussie bab-" He was cut off by large hand karate chopping the back of his neck.

"I'm Itsuka Kendo. Don't listen to this jerk, he has a weird stick up his ass when it comes to class 1A. Outside of your entrance exam, I would be happy to show you around UA if you want." Kendo smiled sweetly, and Obsidian felt a small weight lift off her shoulders. She was beginning to worry that all students at UA were hairy or rude. Finally, the last student from class 1B stepped out of line to greet Obsidian.

"Name's Testutetsu Tetsutetsu! I'd be happy to give Kendo a hand in showing you around too." Instead of shaking her hand like the rest of class 1B, he gave Obsidian a fist bump before returning to his place in line.

"These are four of the strongest students from class 1B. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave you a good fight." Vlad King grumbled. Obsidian could tell that he was very proud of his students, which made Obsidian smile.

"Now time for class 1A." Aizawa smirked.
