Louis smiles at me and releases my hand from his, and stands up. Thank god. My palms were starting to sweat profusely. I quickly wipe them on my leggings.
"That, although very depressing, was extremely enjoyable. Thank you for having me." He says, and I join, standing up as well. I turn the TV and player off, and walk toward the door.
"It was enjoyable. More enjoyable than I expected it to be, anyway." I admit. He follows close behind me, and I'm starting to feel very self conscious. Why?
"I'm merely underestimated." He scoffs in defense. I glance questioningly back at him, but don't way anything.
"So, about the date..." Louis trailed off. I lowered my eyes to the ground, slightly embarrassed.
"It's okay. I'll go. On one." I say firmly, raising my eyes to his again.
"Okay, okay. One is better than none. But when-"
"I'll call you." I say quickly, cutting him off. He blinks.
"Okay, then. I, guess I'll see you around, then?" He asks.
I nod. "Yeah." I say softly.
I expect him to say goodnight and leave, but instead, he leans forward and wraps me in a hug. I freeze at first. Human contact. But...he did just ask me out on a date. Be nice. I mentally scold myself. So I awkwardly hug him back. He release me, and smiles.
"I'll text you tonight." He says, and opens the door.
"Tonight? It's eleven!" I exclaim. He smiles wider.
"The night is still young. Hey, maybe I could just stay here-"
"Yeah, that's definitely not happening." I say sharply. He shrugs.
"Goodbye, Sarah." He says, taking his cue to leave, closing the door softly behind him.
"Bye." I murmur, and head back to the couch. This was strange. And surreal. I pulled my phone out. I needed to talk to someone, anyone. I scrolled through my contact list; going through my limited options of people I had to call. Kaitlyn. I should call her.
I tap her name and press call. She answers on the second ring.
"Sarah! Hey! This is unexpected!" She says in greeting.
"Um, yeah. Hi. I realize I've never..really...called you before. But hey! You're never going to believe this." I reply, deciding to tell her about Louis.
"What?"
"Louis...kind of asked me out. On a date, date." I say after a moment. At first, there's only silence on the other end.
"WHAT? YOU MEAN LOUIS TOMLINSON? HE CALLED YOU? AND ASKED YOU OUT?" She shrieks, and I pull the phone away from my hear. This is why I didn't have friends. They contribute to the potential loss of my hearing.
"Actually...he was just here. In my apartment, I mean." I explain, slightly laughing at her excitement. Although a tad annoying, she's fun to have around.
"WHAT? WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL ME? OH MY GOD THIS IS...THAT IS...wow. That's all I have to say. Wow." She says finally, breathing heavily.
"And, I was kind of wondering if you could help me with something..." I trail off. I hate asking people for favors, it makes me feel like I'm using them.
