"Wait, when did Kita-san mention we have morning practice?" Atsumu placed his hands in his pockets, looking at the sky.
"You haven't checked your phone yet?" Suna faced the setter who shook his head. "Didn't have time to."
"He sent a message to our groupchat earlier." The middle blocker looked at their teammate, Osamu, who was getting a drink in the vending machine.
"But, it isn't exactly a morning practice though. It's just a meeting, since coach announced yesterday that we have the day to ourselves today." Suna continued.
Osamu finally got a water bottle, and headed towards the two. He opened the cap, and slowly drank the beverage.
"Speaking of, how come you didn't know there's a meeting?" Suna asked as Osamu finished drinking his bottle of water. The wing spiker placed the cap once again, and the trio started walking.
"I didn't check my phone."
"He's basically up all night, in a call with his boyfriend." Osamu said, shrugging. Atsumu just nodded, completely agreeing what his brother had said.
It was another early day for them, unfortunately. They were supposed to arrive an hour later, if it weren't for a morning meeting. Then again, maybe this meeting was for the third years, saying goodbye.
'At the same time, I doubt that a simple meeting would be the farewell.' Atsumu thought to himself.
Although Atsumu was feeling half asleep today, he didn't regret staying up late, just to have late night calls with his boyfriend, Kageyama Tobio. However, he figured that Tobio was getting scolded by his sister for staying up late, since there was a chance that he slept in.
After a while of small talks, they finally arrived at the gym. Suna opened the door, and saw that their teammates had already arrived.
Noticing that they were the only ones who were they waiting for, Atsumu closed the door. Then, they immediately ran towards the players, without bothering to place their bags in one place.
"No, it's okay. Place your bags there first. We're still waiting for somebody." The captain pointed at the area where their bags were. The trio nodded, and instantly headed towards that area. Seconds later, they returned to their original place.
"Eh?" Osamu looked around, and raised an eyebrow. He then proceeded to stand beside his brother. "I thought we were waiting for somebody? But, all of us are here though." He continued.
"About that--" However, before Aran could finish his statement, they heard the door open. Catching their attention, it made them look at the direction where the sound came from.
There they saw their a girl, closing the door.
The coach ran towards the girl, and faced the team.
"Gather around!"
"Hai!" The group gathered, making a semi circle.
"I hope all of you didn't mind about the sudden meeting," he paused for a moment, trying to get straight to the point. "But, now that were all here, let's begin."
He looked at the girl, sending a small signal that she can introduce herself.
"Ah!" She shook her head. "I'm Sakura, Sakura Aiko." She sent a warm smile at the team. "A second year here, at Inarizaki High." She bowed.
"Sakura-kun here, is applying for the manager position." Their coach stated, as the girl fixed her posture.
"The reason why I wanted to have a meeting is that, Sakura-kun can know more about the club, as well as the players." He continued, taking a few steps forward.
"So, is it okay with all of you?"
Atsumu tilted his head, unsure if he heard it correct. It's no secret that almost all of the sports club in Inarizaki High were still practicing or spends their time in the gym. However, their school year was about to end, not to mention their tournaments were already done. How come there was a new manager applying around this time?
"Sure," Kita answered for the team. Some of them had smiles, few of them were quite confused, but didn't question it, and lastly, others were cheering.
Maybe having a new manager isn't so bad, right?
