Ribbit Rescue Part 1

Hey, Pixies! So as you can probably tell from the picture and the title, there's gonna be a special guest in this chapter! I'll be introducing an OC in this chapter that will be crucial for the rest of the story so pay attention to them! Also, thanks for 84 reads! I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but it means a lot to me! <3 Anyways let's get on with the story, RIBBIT RESCUE AWAY!! Hehe, I'm just in a fun mood today.

Marinette woke up that morning feeling inspired, she was ready for the day for the first time in forever. The past few days had just been...good! Lila had gotten better at minding her business ever since Marinette had snapped at her.  

She could tell something big was coming her way, however. Be it from Hawkmoth or Lila, she just simply couldn't be bothered to care on this sunny morning. She wanted to sing, she wanted to dance! Our heroine wasn't about to let such a good day pass her by. So she cracked a window that morning, took a deep breath, and watched all her worries fly away in the wind.

"You're smiley today, Marinette!" Tikki giggled

"How could I not be, Tikki? Can't you feel it? Today is gonna be just fine!" Marinette beamed

"Well you know I'm always glad to see you so happy! So do whatever your heart desires, Marinette!"

"Oh, I will, Tikki!" Marinette  replied, dialing her bestie's number

"Hey, Al!"

"Wow, Marinette. I haven't heard you this bubbly in a while! What's up?"

"I'm just having a good day is all. So, wanna hang out?"

"I would love to take full advantage of your sudden positive mood swing-"

"I hear a 'but' coming on..."

"But today is Clean-Up Day, remember?"

When the bluenette gave no response indicating her forgetfulness, Alya let out a sigh paired with a small giggle

"Please don't tell me you forgot, gurl!" she pleaded

"What? No no of course not... but uh do you mind refreshing my memory just a bit?" Marinette responded timidly

"Clean-Up Day is when young Parisians like you and me volunteer to clear up trash from various areas around Paris. We signed up together over the summer! We even bought matching T-shirts, gurl."

"Ohh THAT Clean-Up Day, yeah I knew that!"

"Really? 'Cause, you're not ready yet."

"Well, I- wait how do you know that?"

"Turn around, gurl!" Alya replied

And of course, she was standing right there and Marinette, who was still in her PJs, let out a chuckle; "Okay, maybe I did forget." she admitted

After she had gotten ready for the day, deciding a high pony would be more suitable for cleaning up than her usual pigtails, the duo set off to meet up with the other girls before getting assigned to their various locations.

Of course, they all had T-shirts with the 'Save the Creatures' logo on it

"Hey girls!" Marinette greeted

"Hi, Marinette! You look stunning in that ponytail!" Rose complimented

"Thanks, Rose! You all look amazing too!" she replied

"Yeah we totally-" Alix started but was interrupted by their phones buzzing in unison

"Oh no! Time to split up already?" Mylene complained shyly
