What's going on, is this what death feels like? Why does this place look familiar, what happened. Aren't I supposed to be in hell for........

Then it all came rushing back, the bed scene, his face the blood, her son.
Thinking to here, she gripped her chest, finding it unbearable to breathe.

Seeing the hands she used to clutch her chest, she gasped.

Why do my hands look so small and skinny. Hmmm

She groped around her body as she was struck by a realization. She looked for a mirror when she remembered that she no longer had a clear mirror. She tried to look for a reflective surface and found the copper mirror her uncle bought for her. But the image wasn't.

She ran out of the house knowing only one place that will give her a clear enough view of her face, not paying heed to her surroundings or responding to the voices calling out to her.

She ran as fast as her legs could take her to the stream.

She arrived by the stream and peaked into the water only to see a young face of fifteen reflected back at her.

Su mei had being staring at her face in the stream for awhile now and still couldn't believe what she was seeing.

"I'm young again" she said still baffled at her situation as she stared at her face or should she say her younger self's face.

Su Mei had been a beautiful girl right from a young age, while other girls her age helped out in the field, she didn't have to do so. Her parents pampered her a lot and were not willing to let her do anything strenuous. Inevitably this led her to being spoiled and ignorant.

Su Mei lived with her family at the small northern village of Zuo county in the Jingmen empire. She still remembered this small village where she grew up in. This was the period in her life which she loved and hated the most.

She had made so many mistakes and hurt the people she cared about due to her arrogant attitude and she had paid the price.

She couldn't help but think back to her last life.

That day had been like any other day but unlike any other day, she found out she was getting married. It was supposed to be the happiest news to any girl her age but she wasn't happy.

This was because she already had a prospect husband and it wasn't whom her parents wanted her to marry. She fell in love with a young scholar in her village. She tried as much as she could but couldn't change her parents mind in the marriage.

Frustrated, she ran to the little stream in the Zhou mountains, where she always met her lover. She explained to him the situation and told him her parents wanted to get her married, but she didn't want to.

She came to explain to him thinking he would be upset and think she doesn't love him. But unlike what she thought he wasn't upset.

Since he wasn't upset, she thought he believed and trusted her, so it made her happy. She told him to come see her parents and tell them about their situation but he refused.

Instead he consoled her and convinced her to go ahead with the marriage.
She should have suspected at this point, that which man will want their lover marrying another person. He said that he'd come for her when he became an official.

Hence, the naive her foolishly believed his words while still firmly believing he loved her. Soon she got married to her husband but thinking he was the reason she couldn't be with her lover, she despised him.

For every opportunity she gets she would belittle him and never respected him yet he never says anything and still continued to treat her well.

Her disrespect only reduced when she gave birth for him. Even though she didn't love him, she loved her son and she had planned to take him along when she married Wu Ming.

When she finally decided to leave as his wife, Wu Ming came back for her and they continued their relationship secretly while thinking of ways to make her husband divorce her.

Finally, one day her husband caught her with Wu Ming ng and he was so angry at that time he asked for a divorce It was the first time he had ever raised his voice at her. At first, she was guilty and scared but Wu Ming reassured her and was so happy thinking that she could finally be with Wu ming.

How foolish of her, it was only later she found out why her husband decided to finally divorce when he never did before no matter how much badly she behaved, even with the fact that he knew she was cheating on him.

Oh! How much she regrets it. She went back to her parents home happily, her parents though weren't. They tried to persuade her to go back and beg her husband for his forgiveness and to take her back. to her husband but she had adamantly refused.

They finally divorced and she married Wu Ming regardless of all opposition.
After marrying Wu Ming, they moved to another county. At first things were going well but after he passed the official exams he changed and started behaving differently.

She foolishly thought he still loved her and that she was the one who wasn't good enough.

She went beyond and above to please him. Making alot of enemies because of him. But the end result was he cheated on her and he didn't feel any remorse whatsoever.

How she would have loved to get her revenge on the two but that day was her last day in the world. And the day she truly realized how much she had lost all for the scum if a man she thought loved her as much as she'd loved him.

How she wished it had all been a lie, but deep down a part of her that she had always ignored knew, it was all true. And the fact that she was the reason for it all crushed her to her very soul.

After her marriage with Wu Ming, things weren't exactly how she'd pictured they'd be but she held on knowing he was the only one she had left. Her parents had disowned her after she married Wu Ming and her siblings weren't willing to associate with her.

Her reputation in the village wasn't good before but her marriage to Wu Ming ruined what was left of it completely.

And also the worst of all was she had lost her precious son.

Thankfully after Wu Ming became an official they left the village but unfortunately she also left behind the only people that truly cared for her but at that time she didn't care as she thought she was doing the right thing by following her heart.
