That day, she had just come back from a meeting he sent her on and with urgent life threatening news for him. There was a revolt and he was implicated.
At best, they would lose their officialdom and worst the life of all nine generation to come.
Unknowing to her, while she was fretting over their life and almost non-existent future her husband was enjoying himself. She looked for him in their room but couldn't find him there. She approached the back courtyard wanting to ask it's resident for his whereabout, though she despised the thought of talking to her.
Her husband's cousin resided there. She never liked her cause her husband always compared her with her always making her feel inferior.
When she approached she heard indecent sounds and panting coming from the room. She initially thought it was some servants that did not know how to behave.
She recognized the voice of one of the adulterers, the female voice. It wasn't any servants voice but the resident owner's voice. It was her husband's cousin, Wei Li. She had scolded Wei Li and her partner in her mind while secretly gloating and had even planned to report to her husband. Not until she clearly heard the owner of the other voice, 'his' voice.
Her husband.
Her hand that were placed on the on the door shook in shock and disbelieve. She couldn't believe her ears, that was her husband who was supposed to be at an officials meeting.
Unwilling to believe her ears she decided to see for herself. She opened the door silently to take a peak, she saw two figure entangled on the bed with the covering on the bed barely keeping them from been seen fully naked.
She had stood there dazed with silent tears falling from her eyes, not believing what she was seeing. She snapped out of it when she saw that the two people on the bed finally noticed her. it seemed like they were shocked but later they looked at her with contempt.
She hadn't expected them to look like that. she was expecting him to at least look guilty, but he didn't look guilty not in the least bit guilty at all. Instead, he looked at her with so much hatred, disgust and contempt that she felt suffocated.
He slowly stood from the bed and put on his coat before facing her. The he said slowly,with every word feeling like someone was cutting at her heart.
" I hate you Su Mei"
"I never loved you, you were just a clingy woman who will do anything I asked and I happened to need something from you so I pretended to love you" he continued.
"I just never expected things to go on for this long" he said with disgust.
He paused as he turned to share a knowing smile with his 'cousin'
"Incase you were wondering, she isn't my cousin but my Lover. And since it has come to this point, then I Wu Ming hereby divorce you Su Mei, we shall no longer be a couple anymore" he declared loudly and firmly, leaving no room for her to say anything, not like she could.
While she still stood there with tears falling from her eyes and the dazed look never leaving her face. It all came crashing down, the years she had devoted to him, the people she had hurt, disappointed, the ridicule she had endured and this was what she got in return.
"Ah....ahhhhhh", she screamed out loud. In a fit of rage, she rushed towards him, holding him by his coat while demanding an explanation from him for why he did that to her.
"Why! Why! Whyyy!!!!!!' shaking him, as tears mixed with snots strolled down on her face.
With a disgusted look, he threw her off him but he didn't control his strength so she hit the bed post with her head.
*Bang*
Looking at the blood oozing out of her head, he merely frowned slightly. And slowly bent down.
At this point, she had still foolishly held in to the hope that it was all not true . Thinking he was gonna help her up, she glanced at him hopefully.
Only for him to crush it ruthlessly.
"You wanted to know why, because you were easy to use." he whispered before standing up.
"You thought everything you did was your doing, but I planned it all. Do you even know the reason Zhou Feng divorced you. Hahaha!! It was because your son had been on his death bed but instead he found you with me"
Shocked she stared at him, eyes wide open in disbelieve. Watching him as he went on.
"Hahaha!! It was so funny. You are so foolish to think I'd love a used woman like you" Hearing this her breathing increased.
" That's not all, I was only with you for your family's influence, in order to make my life in the village successful"
" I only married you for your father's recommendation so I could become an official and I got rid of them after they outlived their usefulness"
He whispered the last part in her ears and a smirk on his face, clearly enjoying her reaction.
" One more thing, ever wonder how your precious son died" he leaned closer to her ears.
Hearing this her breathing increased.
"He was being a nuisance so I took care of him" he whispered slowly, while enunciating every word.
Her earlier feelings seemed so fake as compared to what she felt when she heard him.
"NO!!!!!.....h..he....never d..did..any...thing to you. Why did you have kill him" she cried out even louder as she reached out in a sudden burst if strength, wanting to strangle him but only managed to scratch his face.
Angry, he viciously kicked not caring that she was already lying in a pool of her blood.
"You bitch, I only kept you cause you were still useful but now there's no reason to keep you anymore" he said while kicking her again.
At this point, she didn't even register the pain as all her thought were on what he revealed.
" Ahhhhh!!!!!! I curse you Wu Ming, haha ha!!!!!!! I wish you a fate worse than death"
"Don't think you've won, soon enough you'll join me in hell and I'll be waiting for you there"
After saying this, she gradually lost all strength as her consciousness slowly started fading.
With great difficulty turned her head not wanting the last thing she saw be her ex-husband's disgusting face.
Then in her haziness, she saw what looked like her former husband at the door, looking at her with a grief stricken expression.
He walked towards her and gently held her.She felt secure in his arms.
"I'm sorry" was the last thing she managed to whisper out before succumbing to the welcoming hands of darkness.
