The Other Ninja

Chloe

So this part contains drama and some cussing. So kids, you might wanna skip this part. You have been warned!

(Cole's POV)
"SPAIN! POTATO! PHONE! MAGIC! FREEDOM! YOLO! POOP!"
"Jay, what are you doing?" I sigh, giving him a roundhouse kick to the face.
"I'm trying to distract you with random words! CAT!" he yells.
While he's distracted, a pin him down to the floor and hold him there.
"I win." I state calmly, before climbing off him and offering a hand. He takes it, and pulls himself up on me. "You alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. You?" He replies.
"Not a scratch," I grin. We shake hands before going to watch Zane and Kai, who are still fighting. Chloe sits on the sidelines, watching quietly. Jay and I walk over to her and sit down beside her.
"Who's winning?" Jay asks, his cheeks turning a pale pink. He's meant to like Nya!
"Zane," replies Chloe, not turning away from the battle.
"What are your thoughts on their fighting styles?" I ask.
"Well, they're opposites really," she says thoughtfully. "Kai is too reckless; he just fights without thinking. Zane, on the other hand, spends too long thinking about what he's going to do next." Me and Jay laugh.
"That pretty much summarises their personalities," Jay agrees.
Suddenly, a feel a burning sensation on my feet, and look down to see my ankles are on fire. I let out a yelp of surprise and start waving my foot around to get rid of the fire.
"Kai!" I yell.
"Yeah? WOAH!" I hear Kai say.
"You set me on fire!" I look up to glare at him when I finally put out my foot.
"Sorry," he apologises. "I guess I got a bit carried away. But I won!" he lets out a small cheer and I can't help but laugh, and the others join in.

(Lloyd's POV)
Wow. Cole's sister is pretty! I can't wait to see her at dinner in... half an hour! I quickly get out my drawing pad and my felt-tip pens and draw a picture of her. I write 'Chloe' at the top (I think that's her name) and draw little hearts all over the page. I shove the drawing under my pillow and rush to the dining table just as Zane calls me.

(Zane's POV)
I move up on the bench so Chloe can sit between me and Cole. She may be feeling shy, so it is best she sits with her brother. As I expected, she smiles gratefully at me and takes the offered space.

I watch anxiously out of the corner of my eye as Chloe takes her first bite of my cooking.
"Zane!" she gasps. I freeze; does she like it?
"This is amazing!"
I breathe a sigh of relief.
"Thank you Chloe," I smile modestly. I glance at Jay and Kai across the table, and sure enough, they are fuming. I sense that, like me, they are in love with Cole's sister. I suppress a grin at their jealousy. Really Zane? Sensei would be ashamed.
A few more minutes pass, my brothers and sisters talking and laughing.
"Jay? Can I talk to you outside for a minute?" Nya asks through gritted teeth.
"Sure!" Jay answers cheerfully. The two of them leave the room and the chatter continues. Suddenly, though, we hear shouting from the hallway. Cole, who is mainly the peacekeeper of the group, being the leader and all, stands up and marches outside, me and Kai following close behind.
It turns out that Nya is shouting at Jay, tears streaming down her face. Jay is just standing there, looking close to tears himself.
"You can't just ask me out and then go off and fall in love with someone else, Jay! That's not how you treat a girl!" Nya shrieks.
"I-" Jay is lost for words (for once!).
"Wait, what's going on?" Kai asks. Nya turns to Kai, fuming.
"This asshole asked me out a couple of days ago, and now he's obviously lovestruck over Chloe!" she screams.
"JAY! HOW DARE YOU TREAT NYA LIKE THA- hang on... did she say you like Chloe?" Kai asks.
"Ugh! You don't even care!" Nya shouts, but Kai clearly ignores her. Nya then proceeds to storm out of the room.
"Y-yeah..." Jay mumbles.
"But... so do I!" Kai replies.
"And me!" I add.
"She's very pretty!" a little voice says from the door. Lloyd.
"Great," Cole sighs. "So you all like my sister."
"Please don't tell her!" Jay pleads.
"Your secrets are safe with me," Cole nods before leaving the room.
