The Other Ninja

I'm Nya. We're going to be sharing a room!

(Chloe's POV)
"We're here!" Cole says cheerfully. I look around, confused. We're in the middle of the desert! There's no house in sight!
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"Look up."
I tilt my head upwards and my jaw drops. Right there above me is a flying pirate ship.
"That's where you live?" I cry.
"Yeah," Cole smiles at my expression. "Come on, let's go."
"Go up there? But how?"
"We climb!" Cole laughs, running towards the anchor, which is buried deep in the sand. My mouth opens even wider.
"Come on!" Cole calls. Yep, he's insane. Cautiously, I make my way over to my brother. He crouches down.
"Climb on my back," he instructs. Shrugging, I lift myself onto his back and he begins to shinny up the chain with the strength and skill of a mountain climber. Maybe that's what he did when he escaped The Marty Openheimer, before he became a ninja.
He finally reaches the top. I spot a red figure on the other side of the ship, running towards us.
"Cole! You're back!" he grins, carefully avoiding looking at me.
"You seem strangely excited about that, Kai," my brother replies innocently. I stifle a giggle. Sure enough, a dark blush has appeared on Kai's cheeks.
"Whatever," he mutters, stomping off. I look after him worriedly.
"Is he OK?" I ask.
"Yeah, he's fine," Cole smiles, amused.
"Do you four tease each other often?" I question.
"Yeah, all the time. We also tease Lloyd. Speaking of which, you need to introduce yourself to everyone else! Come on!"
I walk slightly behind my brother as he dashes into the hallway. This is so weird!
"Lloyd? Nya?" he calls. A small, blonde haired kid comes round the corner, closely followed by a dark haired girl, who looks slightly younger than me.
"What?" the kid asks, annoyed. Then he looks at me and his mouth forms an O. "Cole, is that your sister?" he exclaims.
"Yeah," my brother grins.
"Cool! I'm Nya. We're going to be sharing a room!" the girl pipes up excitedly. "It's awesome to finally have another girl on the ship. Come on, let's go put your stuff away!"
"In a minute, Nya. We have to go and see Sensei first." Cole laughs.
"Right, of course! I'll see you in a mo'!" she smiles quickly before rushing down the hallway.
"And I'm Lloyd Garmadon," the kid introduces himself. "I'm the magnificent green ninja who's going to defeat Lord Garmadon in the final battle!"
"And so modest, too!" I say sarcastically, and Lloyd pouts adorably. Cole chuckles.
"Come on, Chloe. We have to go see Sensei Wu now." he reminds me, and I walk beside him towards a small room. Cole pushes open the door to reveal an old man with a long, white beard sitting on a mat with his eyes closed. I stare at him for a while.
"Ah, Chloe. You are here." he says without opening his eyes, which makes me jump.
"Y - yeah," I stutter nervously. He opens his wizened brown eyes and looks at me gently.
"There's nothing to be scared of, Chloe," he continues calmly. I slow my breathing a little and look at him. He stands up suddenly, and goes towards me, and before I know it he's engulfed in a spinning gold tornado and then I'm in it too, I'm spinning around faster and faster and faster...
Then, all of a sudden, I'm wearing a purple ninja gi.
"What did you just do?" I ask excitedly. "Can you teach me how to do that?"
"Sensei, is it a coincidence that Chloe's ninja gi looks just like mine but in a different colour or did you do that on purpose?" Cole asks.
"I did it on purpose," the old man smiles. Cole sighs. "And in reply to your question, Chloe, I did spinjitzu, and yes, you will be taught it."
"Cool!" I shriek.
"Now can you two please leave? I was meditating." Sensei Wu says.
"Sorry Sensei," we say together, and then laugh at his annoyed/bewildered face. We quickly run out of the room.
"You'd better go find Nya. She seemed intent on you putting your stuff away." Cole suggests.
"Ok," I agree. I pull my heavy suitcase down the hallway towards Nya's room. I knock twice on the door.
"Chloe!" Nya greets when she opens her door. Our door.
"Hi Nya," I smile. I lug my bag into the room.
"That's your bed!" Nya tells me, pointing to a purple single bed in the corner of the room.
"Cool," I reply, not sure what else to say. It's just a bed, after all.
"Oh, and that's your wardrobe," she grins, pointing to a purple wardrobe opposite my bed. She looks me up and down and I look away, embarrassed.
"You should probably get changed," she suggests. "You can't walk around in your ninja suit!"
I chuckle. "Yeah, you're right."
Nya politely exits our room to let me change.
I pull off my purple ninja gi that is apparently identical to Cole's but purple. I walk towards my suitcase and quickly dress in a purple t-shirt, black leggings and black boots, not worrying about my red hoodie. I assume I'll never see it again... oh well. A ninja must make sacrifices!
"Chloe?" a feminine voice calls out. Are you done?"
"Yeah!" I yell back. I open the door and smile at Nya.
"Come on, I'll give you the grand tour!" she grins excitedly and pulls me away.
