A tear fell from both our eyes as we were stood at the airport. He turned 17 this year and I turned 13. I got the opportunity to train and compete in France. It would be big for my career as I had always wished for it. We pulled each other in a last tight hug before I had to go.
Charles: "Tu vas me manquer Celine... bonne chance et j'espère à bientôt." (I will miss you Celine ... good luck out there and I hope to see you soon.)
Celine: "Au Revoir Charles..."
I walked away with my suitcase and backpack. I turned around once more and waved before disappearing into the airport crowd.

Everything went by in a flash. I crossed the finish line and let myself fall down to the ground. I stayed there trying to catch my breath after the final run at the olympics hoping I was fast enough as I was head to head with Hassan. I had my eyes closed and I felt all the droplets of sweat run over my body. I was pulled out of my trans when I heard Axelle scream next to me. My best friend since I moved to France. We both made it to the finals of the Tokyo olympics 2020... even tho they were held in 2021.
Axelle: "CELI YOU DID IT! YOU DID IT! YOU GOT GOLD! MON AMOUR! TU ES TRES BONNE!" (My love! Your so good!)
My eyes shot towards the board after hearing her thick French accent scream at me in English and a little French and indeed I was first in the final. I started crying from happiness as Axelle and I pulled each other in a hug. I always told myself that I would go back to Monaco after I won an Olympic medal... I finally did it!
