"Oh, I've been dazed and confused,

From the day I met you"

 Aurora Brown

(the same day)

"I really need to leave early today, I would've stayed instead but I have meetings all day and then a dinner with some potential clients and so I really need you to stay and finish some work for me, I need you to put together a pitch with strategies to promote this upcoming book that's been signed to our publication, it's this purple bound manuscript right here" she points to a huge manuscript, and my eyes widen, it's barely 9am and I already have Evelyn making sure she leaves me with loads of work.

"I have the Authors coming in tomorrow, you'll have to work with our publicist- she's staying back with you today too. I need you both to put together a pitch and a presentation for tomorrow, I hope you won't let me down Aurora!" Evelyn says in a singing voice, while hurriedly packing up and picking up her white coat.

And just like that, before I can even ask her anything more, she disappears out the door, putting her sunglasses on, strutting out the office like the diva she is.

I look outside the glass door of her office and I see Deucalion pitifully staring at me from his desk. He waves and I wave back, I walk back to Evelyn's desk and pick up the manuscript, sighing to myself.

Evelyn and my relationship, it's.. complicated, our relationship is like the relationship between a couple that amicably split but is now trying to stay friends, because they have too many common friends, but everybody in the group knows that they secretly hate each other.

Although it's a little hostile between us, I'd say, the wrath of medusa has definitely reduced, at least ever since it's become clear that Chris and I are..acquaintances

I don't want to finally give him the satisfaction and tell him that we're friends, it's been an ongoing joke between us ever since he apologised, I'm not someone who holds grudges, his apology was very sincere and he's been making up for it, holding the door for me everytime he passes by, helping me arrange that carnival date with Harry, bringing me coffee every morning and pretending like he didn't buy it for me.

He thinks that he owes me coffee for the rest of our life, since he dumped it a whole cup of it on me and then yelled at me for it.

I haven't had loads of time to get to know everyone around the office, I've spoken to a few people but Deucalion's been my main man, my homie, my saviour from awkward lunch breaks in the stairway,  going to lunch with me or just keeping me company while I'm swamped with work.

I've been learning so many new things about him, about how him and his boyfriend plan on getting a dog to expand their little family. He's also been pushing the idea of Harry and I going over to their place for the longest time, and I've been pushing it for the longest time.

I haven't really told him about Harry, I never seem to find the right time or opportunity to tell him about us,

Hell, I don't even believe that we're dating on somedays, I don't even know what I'll say to Deucalion.

I pick up the manuscript and walk up to the other side of the office, where I've learned that the publicist has her office. I reach the office and I notice a couple more people inside,

I knock on the glass door, "Rabia? Rabia Nawaz?" I call out, to find out who exactly I'll be working with.

All the people turn around to look at me but only one person responds, "yes?" I'm met with a beautiful pair of striking blue eyes and dark hair enveloped in a brown hijab, I smile at her before I introduce myself to her,
