As Cassandra woke up, she rubbed their eyes. "What time is it?" They grabbed her phone. "Why won't it turn on?" She looked around the room, seeing nothing but a normal bedroom. They woke up and opened the curtains. "What the actual fuck..!" She screamed. Outside was rubble and dirt. They ran downstairs and got dressed. The water wasn't working. The electricity shut off and everyone is gone. They grabbed a backpack with food,already bottled water and a gas mask. Cassandra knew she had to get out and see if anyone else is alive.
They got out of their house and saw her 2 best friends, Brian and Emily. "What happened to this place?" Brian asked, scratching his neck. Cass gave a small shrug. Emily broke the silence, "We have no clue either, our dad went out last night and never came home." Brian looked at his sister's sullen face with a sad smile. "We will find him Em." He spoke with a determined yet depressing tone. They all shared a small grin as Cass looked above the huge skyscraper ahead.
"Looks like this is the start of our journey to find a safe place." Cass said. Emily laughed at this thought. "Wait, you aren't serious right?" Brian asked. Cass shook her head. "Wait WAIT, so we are actually doing this? LIKE RIGHT NOW?" He shouted in excitement. Cass only laughed and started walking to the other houses. "Yes Brian, right now. We just need supplies." Emily yawned.
