Ever since joining class 1-A, Uraraka always managed to remain true to her bubbly, positive attitude. It was drilled into her nature. However as time passed by, she began to become aware of the fact she was surrounded by thin, gorgeous girls every day. She couldn't help in comparing herself to them. The two terms of being "Thin" and "Pretty" became equivalent in her brain. She certainly wasn't obese by any means but she wasn't necessarily skinny either, she was in slightly mid-sized range.
It escalated to the point where Uraraka couldn't stand looking at the reflection of her own body anymore, to take action she started to regulate her calories. She was never the best cook to begin with and didn't have enough money to afford food most the time; this only added to reasons why she progressively started to eat less and less until her meals soon became nothing.
"Hey, is everything okay? This is the fourth day in row you've skipped lunch, you should really eat something." Asui questioned, putting a curious finger on their cheek and tilting her head at Uraraka.
Uraraka snapped out of her trance, she had unintentionally zoned out while staring at her friend's food. Her body must've been subconsciously screaming for her to eat but she continued to ignore her appetite's wishes.
"Me? Yeah, everything is great! Just trying to save some money! Thanks for asking Tsu." She replied, flashing a bright smile to brush off the comment.
"If that's the problem then I am willing to pay for you today! You know Uraraka, you can always talk to me about anything. Kero." Asui responded.
"Oh! I appreciate the offer, but seriously, there is no need." She waved her hand, convincing Asui, as she lied through her teeth.
This was only one of many times her friends showed concern over this reoccurring scenario. When they would ask questions on why she wasn't eating she'd usually reply with an excuse of her being full from previous meals, feeling sick, or trying to save money.
It had been two and a half weeks since Uraraka had ate, and the fellow girls in her class were worried. Mina was fed up with Ochako's excuses, she knew something else was at play.
Mina pulled Uraraka aside to talk with her after class, catching her before she entered her dorm room. It seemed like the most convenient time to do so considering both their rooms were located on the same floor. The other girl confronted her and interrogated her to dig down to the truth. Mina did not receive a straightforward answer, Uraraka tried to avoid the questions to the best of her abilities.
Bakugou was coming back from one of his personal training sessions. Once he arrived on his floor, which happened to be on the same floor as Uraraka but on the opposite side, he overheard the conversation and decide to eavesdrop. While Mina remained oblivious of Ochako's motive, Bakugou understood immediately what was happening because even though he was a hot-headed asshole, his incredible intuition skills and strategic mindset provided him with the explanation.
Bakugou quietly continued to his room and sat on his bed, his eyebrows furrowed together in frustration and confusion. "What the hell is wrong with her? Doesn't pink cheeks know that's unhealthy? She'll never become a pro-hero with that mentality. She needs to be at her best so if we fight again I'll beat her because I'm stronger, not winning because she's weak due to malnutrition." He grumbled in anger, pinching the bridge of his nose.
He trudged his way back to the common area, it seemed like a ghost town. He then went toward the kitchen and started assembling a bento box made special for Uraraka, even including mochi because he remembered previously hearing her mention she likes sweets.
Bakugou didn't care much about what other people had to say, he found needless blabbering and empty small talk highly annoying. That being said, it's not as if the blonde didn't listen. "Damn Extra, slackin' on her meals."
The next morning before school Bakugou set the bento box in front of her door with a note attached to it. The note read 'Eat this or else, round face' and knocked on Uraraka's door. Bakugou left before she could open the door and left like nothing happened.
