In my story Chavan's are not so cruel (assume kidnapping part is not there). They have already accepted Sai as Virat's wife. They have already seen Virat's liking for Sai and how was he when she was not with him. Later when she came back, they saw the change in Virat's behavior. They understood that he is completely into her. Even though they don't accept, they are convinced that Sai will be staying there permanently. Unconsciously they developed a bit of softness for her. Kaku doesn't express but she impressed by Sai. But they will never stop taunting.

After completion of Harinee birthday celebration, everyone left to their houses. Sai has become calm and responding only when asked something. Virat observed and asked her what has happened. She brushes off saying that she is just tired. In the night, she directly goes to bed without talking anything. Virat also laid down and fell in deep sleep early due to exhaustion. Lying on the bed she started thinking about the situation she is in. Pillow wall is still present. She is confused and frustrated. She has no one who can talk to. She can't speak to aayi and make situation more complex.

Sai's Brain- I am the one who is stupid for moving close to him. For him, his promise is important than anything. Because of one of those promises only he married me. As he stated many times, I am just his Zimmedari. He loves Pakhi didi and promised her not to let any girl in his life and heart. Even, I promised him that I will never come in between them. Ishould stick to my promise. Maybe I had let my guards down and started feeling something. But this is not right. He is already committed to some other person.

Sai's Heart- But now-a-days his behavior is like he has moved on. He is acting weirdly these days. He is showing more concern. Maybe he is also having some feelings for you and has accepted that you as his wife and trying to move on with you.

Sai's Brain- No no... I am just misunderstanding his goodness. It's nothing like that. He loves Pakhi didi. (Shaking her head) I should not think about all these. My focus should be only on my studies. None of his promises should break because of me.

While the fight between her heart and brain is going on, tears already started flowing down her cheeks.

Sai's Heart- Didn't you admit that he is only one for you who can call as your own?

Sai's Brain- Yes. So?

Sai's Heart- Can you live without him?

Sai's Brain- (Not having courage to admit to herself that she wants to stay near him) (Stubbornly) I can.....he can live without me then why not me? And now as Virat Sir is almost cured, I can leave to my hostel as soon as possible.

Sai's Heart- Are you sure you don't want to be the reason for breaking of any of his promises?

Sai's Brain- Definitely...

Sai's Brain- (Thinking) I think You are right. Even he wants me to stay back because he doesn't want to break his promise, I guess. I will stay back but I will maintain some distance from him. I will not allow him to break my walls at any cost. I should not let my guard down.

What even she doesn't know is that she can never leave him and go, even though she wants.

She thought that she can also have her share of happiness and have a life of normal married couple. But her world crashed down and delusions broke. Reality strikes her hard and is harshly brought back from her dream. In this weak mental state all those taunts and insults thrown at her by some family members came back one by one. She got reminded of all those memories. She never let any of those taunts affect her, but she never forgot them. Due to her hurt and vulnerable state, all those started making sense.
