sunghoon walks down the bridge, clasping his bag and smiling widely. he was excited to go home for his father had told him that when he arrived, good news awaits him. soobin, his guardian who had been walking beside him, laughed softly at him. "what's so funny?" the younger asks. soobin shakes his head and pats the boy's head "nothing! anyways, what's gotten you so happy today hm? have you finally found friends?" he answers, teasing his master.
sunghoon punches soobin's shoulder playfully before crossing his arms and scoffing. "i wish, but nope! my dad said he has good news, so I'm excited to come home!" soobin raises his brows "i am skeptical about this good news your dad is telling you about" he says, pulling sunghoon's hand towards a food stand he saw while talking to his master. "why are you skeptical about the good news?" sunghoon asks, grabbing the barbeque on a stick the older has handed him before thanking him. soobin pays for their food and turns to sunghoon while taking a bite from his barbeque. "i feel like that good news isn't exactly good news. the last time he said that there's good news, you were forced to go to america." soobin explains.
sunghoon pouts and finishes his food, throwing the stick on the trash can beside the stand. he sighs and starts walking with soobin after the older finished his food. "i know but he sounded so happy so i guess it is good news...." soobin rolls his eyes before looking both ways as they crossed the street. "mr. park, he also sounded happy when he told you that you were going to japan" sunghoon sighs once again, his happiness being replaced with sorrows. "i just hope that the news isn't that bad..."
the two teens stop by at soobin's house, facing each other to bid their goodbyes. "see you tomorrow mr. park, text me about the news okay?" soobin says, hugging sunghoon. "see you hyung" the boy bids his guardian goodbye before he started walking towards his house, which was two blocks away from the house he was currently in front of. sunghoon hums to the song that was currently stuck in his head, stopping when he sees his house that was strangely decorated.
sunghoon squints his eyes in suspicion and walks towards his house, greeting the guard that stood in front of their gate with a smile before running into the house. "I'm home!" he shouts, causing his friend to happily run towards him and engulf him in a tight hug. "welcome home mr. park!" jake shouts back, pulling away from the hug before smiling softly at him. "hey jakey, didn't i tell you to call me sunghoon? where's mom and dad?" sunghoon asks. jake pouts at the first question, ignoring it, and decided to answer the second question instead. "your parents are in the dining room with our guests! come! come!" the older informs him. "guests?" sunghoon states in confusion. jake nods his head before asking for his hand politely. the boy shakes his and puts his hand on top of jake's, letting the younger pull him towards where his parents were.
"mom, dad! I'm home!" hearing their son's voice, they clapped their hands in excitement and hugged him back when he engulfed them in a hug. sunghoon's bright smile faltered when he spots a girl his age. "mom, who is she?" he asks his mother, who told him to sit down beside the said girl. sunghoon's father puts his hands together and takes a deep breath before dropping the bomb on the two of them.
"you're both getting married"
"WHAT?!" sunghoon and the girl that sat beside him shouted together, their eyes widening at the boy's father. the girl looks at her father, asking him about the situation that was currently happening. both of the teenagers' fathers looked at each other and sighed. "wait wait wait, aren't they the Kang clan? YOUR enemy?" sunghoon states to his father before glaring at the girl who had looked at him in shock. "don't look at me like that! i never knew about this!" the girl said before turning her attention towards her father and started glaring at him.
the girl's father crosses his arms and explains to the two why this was happening in the first place. "kids, we're doing this for everybody's own good. you marrying each other will result in our family's feud finally coming to an end. i hope both of you will understand our decision." the two teenagers look at their fathers in disappointment before looking at each other with sad eyes. "but dad, didn't i tell you that I'm going to marry someone already?" the girl says, causing her dad to sigh. "i know dear but you have to understand our reasoning. you don't want another world war happening right?" the girl nods at her father's statement.
sunghoon's mother clapped her hands and caught everybody's attention. "let's go to the living room and talk about this marriage. you two can try and get to know each other!" sunghoon face palmed and tried hiding his face in his hands, avoiding the girl's gaze as his parents guide the other's to their living room to "talk". after a few minutes of trying to avoid any conversation to start with the girl, he turns his body to face her and puts his hands together.
"sooo, let's talk shall we?"
