The ones that love us never truly leave us - Sirius Black

𝐈𝐭'𝐬 now a few days before the night of Lily and James Potter demise and whilst Harry survives it has a deep price to pay. One she would not like to make. She wanted to warm them all of the danger that would be held against them, how friendships would crumble and how betrayals run deep. She knew that no matter how hard she would try it would ultimately fail leaving her, Harry and Caelum ultimately alone. However this wouldn't mean that she wouldn't oh no she would try her darn hardest to make sure a different outcome came out even if it would only for her father, Sirius Black.

Sirius looked wearily at his children he knew they were becoming restless even with each other's company they still wanted to go to the Potter's although that thought was becoming more and more dangerous for both parties. Whilst he would do anything for his children he too wanted a release for being a parent although frustrating he wouldn't change it for the world. Maybe that's why he very reluctantly asked James and Lily to look after the twins on Halloween. Unfortunately this wasn't discussed in front of Lyra so she didn't know.

Seeing her Dad come into the same round as her and her brother, the nursery. Playing with a toy truck Lyra dropped the toy before gazing up at her father with grey eyes that stare into his soul. "Dada." She squealed in a baby voice before being packed up by a happy Sirius with tears in his eyes.

Being spun around Lyra giggled in delight before being placed back down.

That was how Lyra had her first words.

Caelum's first words were merely a few hours later, "Pa'foot" Him bouncing slightly in his crib from wanting to be held.

It was adorable to see Sirius practically melt at the boy's first word, granted he had whispered in their ears ever since they were born.

Tonight Dad was going to tell them a story about Mum, we were all downstairs on the couch, me curled up on Dad's right side and Caelum on his left.

"So the day me and your mother first met at Hogwarts was like no other.." He smiled, getting lost in the memory.

A young Sirius Black makes his way onto a boat with his new found friends he was thankful they didn't instantly judge him because of his last name.

Taken in by the marvelous view of the castle he would soon be calling home he didn't realise the boats had come to a stop.

Fingers snapping in front of his face looking up to see a girl with bouncy blonde curls shoulder-length with some light mascara on along with slight dusting of blusher. She looked really pretty with the most adorable bluebell eyes that remind him of a summer field at home where he would normally go to get away from everything, a safe haven.

"The boat has stopped, Lover boy." She smirked before walking away with the rest of their year. It had seemed like the friends he had made left the boat assuming he would follow.

Lyra sat in slight awe with the story already loving fairytales from her past life anyway but to think her parents had something similar.

Whilst Caelum scrunched his nose up, "ew."

Making Sirius laugh and tickle the two.

Laughter and joy filling the air around them, Marlene looking over them from the veil smiling she knew Sirius would take care of them. Before walking away but remembering that happy sacred moment.

Sirius flooed in the twins whilst they were asleep he figured it would be easier he had spoken to Lily and James about this a few days a ago and they were fine with it but even they knew that this visit would probably be the last for the twins.

The fidelius charm was casted around there house in Godric's Hallow in a few weeks they would be able to return to the Potter Manor seeing as it was getting its barriers more enforced and it was dangerous for a toddler to be inside in case something may go wrong.

Sirius had turned down being their secret keeper due to the fact of it being too obvious and gave the position to Peter Pettigrew, something he would soon live to regret.

Handing off the babies to Lily and James he gave them a grateful smile before flooing back.

Waking up her grey eyes pierced through Lily's green, She had known what day it was earlier and tried to warn her father unfortunately he had just brushed her off.

Crying to try and alert the parents something was wrong obviously wasn't a good idea seeing as they thought she was hungry.

Wait no that was a good idea.

Focusing strongly on the idea of everything in the kitchen in the cupboards exploding.

To her surprise it did letting out a squeal of surprise unfortunately the loud noise awoke both sleeping now grouchy babies.

Lily and James looking at Lyra if she could define what they were probably thinking now it would be what the fuck!

Of course they can't say that to a baby so they ended up saying, "Well done." Praising her to no end before they saw the distressed toddler's.

Caelum and Harry were happily playing in the play pen whilst Lily held Lyra rocking her side to side. James had just finished cleaning up the mess she made with a few spells.

"James, can you go get us some more food please?" Lily asked after a few moments he reluctantly agreed leaving with a kiss on the lips for Lily and a kiss on the cheek for us.

She had saved one of them.

Lyra didn't ever really want to recall the memories of that night, the haunting red eyes still implanted in her brain holding no mercy.
