there are lots of skaters there! teens and adults from all over come in to skate. yeonjun is all ready for the trick competition when a group of three shows up. they look super tough, like they're here to kick ass and take names. soobin calls them sriracha, but yeonjun corrects him. 3racha.
the one they call binnie goes directly against yeonjun in tricks. he does a 270, so yeonjun matches him and then grabs some major air. he lands a full 360 before landing. it looks really impressive! you're not used to this many tricks all at once. then binnie goes for one of the curbs and grinds it before kicking off and doing a bigflip. yeonjun just shakes his head with a smile and pulls off a hospital flip, which shocks everybody. you didn't even know that was possible!
the girls then perform their tricks next. yoon does her best, and she even pulls off her laser flip! the itzy girls show up but even they can't match how fantastic yoon looks today. the judges deliberate and then award yeonjun and yoon the first place medals! everybody cheers and kai picks up his boyfriend and spins him around.
the races are next. the girls' race is first. sieun takes part, but she only takes place for a minute or two before being left in the dust. one of the itzy girls, a spitfire named ryujin, takes the lead and crosses the finish line first. sieun sits by you to watch the boys race.
several boys line up for the race. it will go up the big ramp and down the side, around the bowl and then through it, then lapping around the parking lot to the start line again. taehyun is next to a really tall boy everybody else calls chris. chris chan, yeonjun says, leader of 3racha. and you know he's gonna be hard to beat.
a girl starts the race with a wave of a flag. they're off! they all skate together. taehyun takes the lead! all of his spinning in the bowl has paid off. then he makes his way around the parking lot and to the start line, up the ramp. he sails over it! and then the skateboard falls out from under his feet. oh, no! then he tumbles to the ground while the others skate around him.
you want to run to him. you want to make sure he's okay. but as you get up, sieun grabs your sleeve. you have to wait. you can't go in right now or the others will run you over!
so you watch as taehyun picks himself back up and exits the race. once he's away from the course, you run up to him. he smiles and sits by you as chris chan wins the race.
as the competition disbands, you hold onto taehyun's skateboard. he talks with his friends. and you casually put one foot on it. you stand on it, and you feel it move under your feet, so you step off.
too scared? taehyun asks, and he makes you sit on the board. then, he pushes you all around the skate park, staying on the flat areas. everybody cheers for you as you make your own little trip around. then, taehyun pushes you into the bowl. you hang on and stay on the board! it goes up and down, and you fall off in the middle, laying down and laughing.
you could get used to this free skater life. then taehyun joins you in the middle, and the others, too, and someone grabs a group selfie and then you're all skating again. and, this time, you let taehyun start to teach you how.
