I had always had a normal life. I did what any 20 year old would do. I went to classes at the local university, had a boyfriend and friends. What most people didn't know or see though, was the other part of my normal life.
I hunted the monsters that people believed were only true in fairytales, movies, and stories. The only person in my life that knew this was my father. He was the reason I had a second side to my life. No one else would ever know my second life.
My books covered the desk in front of me, an open notebook with a pen sat on top of the empty paper. I had my phone out in front of me, playing music softly as I stared blankly at the words swimming on the pages in front of me. I leaned back, stretching my back against the chair as a sigh escaped my lips.
I checked the time on my phone groaning at the sight of the numbers looking back at me, sitting perfectly above the beautiful eyes of my boyfriend. I smiled down at the goofy picture that he had taken one night while we were out with a group of our friends.
I felt a set of arms wrap around my shoulders from behind as a chin settles itself down on the top of my head. I smiled as I grabbed the offenders forearms, leaning my cheek to the side as I glanced up at him from the corner of my eyes.
"Hi." I whisper shyly as Tyler kisses my cheek.
"Hey..." He whispers back, tilting his head to give me a brief kiss. "Need help?" He nods towards the stack of books in front of me.
"I'm done for the night I think." I grunt as I move to close my books.
His hand reaches out and stops me, looking down at the words on the book. His fingers gliding along the page as he reads. I take the second of silence to admire the man beside me. He's tall and lean, light muscling on his arms that ripple as he moves, blonde curly hair cut short but left unruly, eyes the color of the ocean, and facial features sharp enough to cut fingers. There's a little dimple that appears when he smiles that I adore.
"Stop staring. It's rude." He says after a minute, turning to make full eye contact.
"I'm not staring... I'm, admiring." I retort, reaching up to pat his cheek. He just rolls his eyes before cuddling his face into the crook of my neck, letting a deep sigh rush across my skin. A shiver runs down my spine and a happy sigh escapes my lips.
He places a sweet kiss on the side of my neck, right below my ear, before letting go of me and plopping down on the bed opposite of the desk. He sits himself up on his elbow and watches me pack up my books, placing them in a neat stack on the corner of my desk. When I get up from the chair he reaches his hands up to me, motioning like a toddler.
I giggle lightly before throwing myself down on top of him, wrapping my arms around his torso as he hugs my shoulders. We lay like this in complete silence, simply enjoying each other's company. I feel his breathing shallow out as a few light snores escape his lips, I smile as I snuggle into him closer. My eyes become droopy as sleep overwhelms me, pulling me into it.
『.』『.』『.』
A hand roughly grabs my shoulder, jolting me awake as I'm pulled into a sitting position. I rub my tired eyes and look up to find my father staring down at me. He puts a finger to his lips to shush me before nodding towards the door, silently asking me to follow him.
I look back to make sure Tyler hasn't stirred before getting up from the bed, tip toeing towards the door. I sneak out of the room and close the door quietly behind me before heading towards my fathers study. I step into the warmly lit room and push the door shut with my foot as i cross my arms. He leans against his desk, rubbing his brow with his forefinger and thumb, the tension present on his facial features.
