On a certain day in February.

In a meeting room, in a certain facility in Tokyo which was completely isolated from the outside world, hidden by the mountains, three people were talking about something very very important.

A man was giving all sorts of information to a teenage student. The data and information about every student of the school that the student would be enrolling in soon enough. Such a large number of students along with their name, class, date of birth, former schools, and everything-it would have been a difficult task even for an adult. But that teenage student was listening and there was not even a twitch of his shoulders or eyes the whole time. The student was listening still.

After about an hour of the briefing session, it finally came to an end.

The curtains rolled open and the big monitor turned off. Light made its way to the dark, white room.

"This is all you need to know about this school. I hope there would be no problem."

The man spoke with a voice like a rolling thunder giving credence to his authority and power.

"Yes."

In response to that fearsome man, the student replied with a sharp voice devoid of any unease or panic.

"It has been three years since you dropped out. I hope your skills haven't rusted."

"Do you want me to prove?"

There was no delay and no hesitation in the student's reply.

The man gazed at the lone student. Even under that much pressure, that student didn't falter and returned the man's gaze head-on.

Without taking his eyes off the lone student, the man issued his orders.

"Take her away."

Upon those words, a man appeared out of nowhere.

He was definitely in the room the whole time but he had been so silent, so still, that he was almost non-existent.

He swiftly sprang into action and led the student out of the room.

Within less than a minute, he appeared again and stood in front of the man.

"The preparations are completed, I take."

"Yes. There is no need for you to worry."

The man turned around. "It will happen soon."

The man gazed outside the white world to the mountains in the far distance.

"But will that student be all right, I wonder?"

"If you are worried about skills then fear not. The one we are sending is, you could call, one of the best students and not to mention one of the only two who made it to the final examination."

"The Demonic Fourth Generation."

In the White Room, every year, a new batch of students was trained under one leader. Each curriculum is immensely difficult compared to your average school. But even within the White Room, there was one such generation where the leader imposed such a harsh curriculum that majority of the students crumbled and dropped out. The education was so hard that now it is referred to as the 'Demonic Fourth Generation."

Even though there were plenty of amazing students, most had believed that no one would be able to clear the curriculum. They believed that no one would be able to stand to take part in the final examination. But their expectations were pleasantly betrayed when two students managed to make it to the final examination. Out of them, only one was able to clear it and the name of that existence is known to everyone who has been a part of the White Room.

The other student couldn't clear the final examination by a very small margin. Many other researchers had thought that the other student was equally brilliant. However, the leader of that generation only wanted results. No matter how small a margin, a failure was still a failure.

So, what happened to that other student? That student was disposed of, like any other failure.

That was what the others inside the facility thought and knew. There was another matter, however.

"Although that student was disposed of, they still had been put under supervision. To prepare for this day, that student had been sent to normal school after being dropped out and made to fit the criteria to enroll in Tokyo Advanced Nurturing HighSchool."

They had been preparing for this day.

"Do you think he will fight for our sake?"

"Of course he will."

"But doesn't he resent you?"

"He might. But it has nothing to do with the White Room. He knows better than anyone that this is the only place he belongs to."

The man spoke with absolute confidence to which Tsukishiro hmm'd in contemplation. Then he asked another question.

"Do you think he needs any sort of assistance?"

"If he decides to show his cards fully, then no. But that kid is stubborn. He still wants to keep his cards hidden. Not to mention, I want to make sure there is no chance of failure."

"I see." Tsukishiro pit his hands on his chin and continued, "But wouldn't it better to send someone like Yagami-kun then?"

In the White Room, Yagami was considered to be the best after Ayanokoji Kiyotaka. So, to ensure complete victory it would make sense to send someone like him rather than a student who has been away from the facility for three years.

"He has already failed once and he hates him. So, in this case, would he try to aid the very person he wants to kill? And I don't think you need to doubt that student's abilities."

"Yes. I have seen the numbers. They are impressive. As expected of someone who made it to the final examination of the Demonic Fourth Generation. But..." Tsukishiro paused and his lips curled up just a little, "...isn't that student sent because that student is one of your blood?"

Normally no man would be able to pass such comments to the absolute one sitting before him. But Tsukishiro was an exception. Hee had obtained results far more than any others, which has earned him this position.

The man stood from his seat without responding to his words and spoke, "I leave the White Room in your care."

"I will make sure to do my best in your absence."

He humbly bowed his head in a show of his loyalty.

The man strode outside the room and Tsukishiro followed behind sliently.
