"Jeff! You home yet?" A girl with long red hair walks in through the door, "Jeff!" It's the once fragile little girl who everybody believed had passed away. She now stands in a spacious house with long dark red hair, dark clothing, and a rebellious vibe.
"Really, Jeff? You couldn't even wait for me!" I shout out loud in the empty lonesome house.
She heads upstairs towards what seems like a bedroom door at the end of the hallway. As she's about to open the door, the lyrics to If You Can't Hang by Sleeping With Sirens pierces through the hallway, she reaches into her pocket and looks at her phone, it's her brother.
She answers her phone without hesitation, "Hello? Jeff?"
"...hey, Martha," it always takes Jeff time to answer the phone, in a way it sounded as if he was never interested in talking, in fact he only called or talked to Martha. He has this huge sister image and is considered an overprotective brother, he's scared that as Martha gets older she would want to leave him, "You home yet?"
"Uh huh! Where you at?" I start asking while opening the door to my bedroom. "Did you start without me again?"
"..." She waits for him to reply, but there's no response.
"You did! You really did! And on the most important day ever too!" I start shouting at him through the phone and even kick the wall, causing a picture frame of Jeff and I to fall to the ground and break. The reason i'm pissed off with him isn't 'cause he's not home, but because he started OUR killing spree without me... Again.
Every now and then, Jeff and I go out on killing sprees, we consider them our bonding moments. Jeff has been doing this ever since I can remember, in fact, I wouldn't be shock if killing was the first thing he learnt to do rather than crawl or talk. Jeff killed our parents. At first, I was planning on stopping him 'cause if he killed our parents, we would end up alone or with some other messed up, goody good family, but I couldn't, no, I didn't want to. So instead of stopping Jeff, I decided to join him, he didn't let me do anything but watch him kill our parents. He looked so happy, but at the same time his eyes were watery. I saw a couple teardrops fall off his face, but I did't ask him about it. It was almost as if he didn't want to kill them, but he had no other choice but to do it. When he finish, he dropped the knife on the floor and stood there for awhile, looking over what he had done, then fell to his knees crying, all I could do was hug him and pat his head while he cried.
"Sorry... But I don't think you should join today's spree, Martha." He says, making me come back to my senses.
"What are you talking about? Why?" I feel as if in any minute now i'm going to end up snapping and throwing the phone to the wall, again. "Sigh. Do you know what day it is?" I ask while letting out a short breath of air.
"Yea...your birthday, right?" He answers with an unsure tone, like if he was only guessing.
"Exactly! That's why I SHOULD be there with you," I reply, emphasizing the word 'should'. I grab my black leather jacket and head downstairs towards the living room. "Where you at? I'm gonna go too, okay Jeff?"
"...if I say no, I know you're gonna threaten me with the whole 'I'm never speaking to you again'..." He says, pointing out exactly what I would say if he said no, which is true. I always use the whole 'I'm never speaking to you' or 'I hate you' act with Jeff. After a short pause, he lets out a breath of air and says one last thing before hanging up. "...fine, I'm at Squarewall mall, by the weird black store with all those energetic cheerful looking teens."
"Hot topic?" I say, trying my best to hide my laughter.
"Yea, that crap...Later," He says while hanging up.
"Alright." I reply even though I know he had already hung up. I make sure to grab my phone and my keys. I lock up the house and start to head to Squarewall mall.
